End-turn "Pending"

Description

At turn 97, after clicking end turn the game will get stuck on pending.

Steps to Reproduce

Honestly I have no idea what caused it, check the save file if it helps.

This was a multiplayer game with 2 human players. Myself playing as Lumeris and my friend playing as United Empire.

I get this bug fairly regularly in single player games. Probably about once an hour or two.

Always when it happens the other AI players are "In Encounter".

The work-around is to exit the game and load the latest save, even if it's for the same turn, and that unblocks things.

I've also been stuck "In Encounter" myself, when the only ship I'm fighting is an AI hero. Might be related.

By exit the game you mean quit the game itself (not just the match)? We tried reloading the same autosave, even a manual one we made, one and even two turns before the 97th turn and had no luck.

I am experiencing this as well. Last time it was on turn 15 as the AI was attacking one of my ships. At first I couldn't click the events on the right side, and then the game got stuck on "pending" as I ended the turn.
Version: V0.3.4 S2 ALPHA-Public. I played as UE against a single AI on Tiny. After quitting the game and reloading the save at a later time I could keep playing.

Yes, fully exit the game.

I have (related?) bugs with the game not exiting cleanly, and after the game has run for a while, I'm not able to load saves anymore. The game just hangs on "Starting Game..." in the loading screen. Exiting entirely (Alt-F4 usually works, otherwise, I kill the task) resolves all of my "stuck" issues so far.

I suspect, given how the game behaves, that it's multi-threaded and that it's running into race-conditions and/or locks in certain instances.
