I'll be collecting a bunch of saves to pass them on to the rest of the team for analysis.

If you have been posting in multiple thread, just post your save in only one, we are going to collect them all anyway and we don't really need duplicate saves

For all those having trouble in the meantime with corrupted saves.. try this.

IF you do have a loadable save at some point, try playing from that through to a higher turn count and you may be lucky enough like me to find a point that allows you to save uncorrupted.

For me I had a good save still at turn 165. Any saves during 166-169 were all unloadable. However I decided to try just playing through hitting end turn just to see if I could save some point down the line and it worked! At turn 170 I was able to save uncorrupted.

So all I did from there was load the 165 Turn, only did the most vital actions of Empire Management and play straight to 170 not saving at all. Saved on 170 and it's been working ever since.

As a side note, I did clean my C disk, I scheduled it for error checking on reboot, I made extra room on my HDD drive as well, updated my graphics drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled ES2.

My Riftborn playthrough is broken too. I was going to try and report a different issue relating to heroes being trapped in ghost fleets but I can't even load the saves to reproduce the problem.

Neither save works.

Same problem here, the loading process just stops at "Launching game" and here is my save file (about 90 turns played) AutoSave 127.zip

The version is 0.3.6 S2 ALPHA-Public

One thing I discovered was by playing a number of turns (5) without saving at all I was able to reach a point in my play through that could save uncorrupted. Just an observation that may be useful!

If I have the issue again I will post specifics for the Team! I apologize if my previous post(s) came off as irratable. I play extremely methodically and had roughly 200 hours in the one play through.

Bug description:

I spent several hours on a game. After almost 200 turns, I saved it to continue the next day. Unfortunately, the game won't load anymore, nor do the autosaves. It just freezes in the load window when saying "Game ready" - the load bar gets stuck at about the half. I then started another game, same problem - savegame and autosaves won't reload. I also tried to start them from the installed game on my notebook, won't load there either (but the notebook's savegames do, fortunately).

Steps to reproduce:

I start the game and try to load. Will freeze with a hourglass on the loadscreen. Cursor can still be moved, I can close the whole game with F4.

Reproducibility: 5/5 (on two different computers)

Expected behaviour: I guess I'd like the game to load...

Version: Latest version (0.3.4 patch installed)

Same here, turn 171, Riftborn, hard setting. Somewhat mortified i could not finish my game (gosh darn, just as it was getting interesting) Attached my game file: Killing it.zip

Still happening to me as well.  All games eventually become unloadable.

And again... now also on my notebook. I have a 153 turn game which won't load, no matter if I try the manual save game or all the autosaves. Always gets stuck at "launching game" prompt. I am deeply disappointed, since I also played Endless Space 1 and it was full of bugs (especially in the multiplayer mode - all the games froze the longer you played). Now ES2 also starts to mess, even though I am full aware that this is the early access version. But I never experienced a game which can't load ANY of its savegames over a certain size.

same here .. every game that i start , freeze after hours of playing and cant load it anymore ... 

I have the same issue played multiple times different races eventually all the autosaves get corrupt or something and can't be loaded.

Same issue here.

I have a savegame with Sophons at turn 107. That savegame can not be loaded, the other 5 autosaves are not loadable as well.

A save from 2 days ago is fine and loadable.
