Summary:

Upon loading the game up, the loading bar fills rather quickly, hangs for a bit around 75%, then fills all the way (See screenshot below). At this point, the title screen music plays, but the menu never appears. I have left the game running in this state for up to an hour, during which no apparent progress is made. The process consumes a largely constant amount of memory, consistent with what it consumed before this issue arose.

It should be noted, this does not happen on my desktop PC, only my laptop. Also, this issue only began AFTER the update that added the United Empire. Before that, the game ran wonderfully.

Laptop is an ASUS notebook with Intel Core i7 proccessor and GEFORCE GTX 950M graphics card. OS is Windows 10.

Game menu opens after the loading process is completed.

Version:

0.3.5 (Or whatever is the most up to date version is as of this post. 0.3.5 is the most recent patch note I could see in Steam. Don't know how to check version outside the game.)

Steps Taken:

I have followed steps I believed relevant to my situation on the "Common Issues, Guides and Solutions" page on Steam. (https://steamcommunity.com/app/392110/discussions/0/350544272217377139/)

-I have set the program (the application itself) to run as admin, as well as in Windows 7 compatibility mode.

-I have set my documents folder to Read/Write, as well as the folder the game itself is located in. (The steamapps folder)

-I have ensured my graphics drivers are up to date.

-I have verified the integrity of my game cache after each attempted launch. Every time, Steam states that one file failed to validate, and re-downloads it.

-I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game from scratch, after which the issue persisted, and even before launching the game, I validated the game cache to discover one file failed to validate.

Have you forced the game to use the Nvidia card via the Nvidia Control Panel

Also are you running the latest Nvidia drivers?

Also can you upload your DXDiag and output_log.txt file. Use the "Upload File" option in the forums
