Crash: Black Screen with music then white screen of death while Turn is ending/starting

Greetings,

I begun having issues on turn 81. When the new turn was starting the screen would go black though I could still hear music, I would try to get the new localhost tool to get into Debug mode, but then the game screen would turn white and Windows would suggest closing the program.

I disabled my BitLocker - it didn't help.

I've made a new shortcut from the EXE in the Steamapps area. (This got me past an error on a previous game which black/white screen after the diplomacy window opened to tell me one of the empires declared war on me.)

I've put the shortcut into Win 7 Compatibility mode - this allowed me to get 1-2 turns more before the problem resurfaced. I am excited that I finally got a Crash folder!  Before I never got the Crash pop up window.

3. Steps to reproduce

I went to load my game, to reproduce the error and the game is now crashing on the loading screen if I wait 30 seconds after the music starts (Endless Space 2 logo screen still shown at this point).

If I attempt to load zKilroy009 save game, the program fails after displaying the Game loaded and ready message (about 50 - 60 seconds after music starts)

Next I started the game from the original Steam desktop shortcut

I was able to get to the point where I could see the galaxy of the game, just befor it zoomed it the window minimized. The music was playing, but I was not able to view the window. My PC would "lock" when I tried to switch to ES2. Then I had to bring up Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+ESC) to regain control of my mouse (per se. that is I could move my mouse and click, but nothing would happen). I also found I could ALT+TAB to move the focus off of ES2

I killed ES2 from the Task Manager after waiting 15 minutes.

I forgot in my original post: I've also did the Steam "Verify Integrity of Game Files" (several times) It always comes back with "1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired"
