I loved ES and I can't wait for ES2.



HOWEVER. The reason I got the game was to play with a friend of mine FARRRRRR away. So playing at the same time just didn't work.



Will you please include a solution for long turn multiplayer?



What do I mean?



Basically, simulate old school email turn based play.



Turns go out, people play, then submit their turn, then receive a new turn. That was you can play with several people who all have different lives.



Otherwise I don't think I'll ever really play this multiplayer...





As an aside, has anyone played "STARS!" it came out in the late 90's and was, by far, the best 4X game I've ever played. I found this game trying to find a similar updated game.

Unfortunately, the architecture of the game will not support this kind of turn-based play. There are a bunch of wargames out there that have a real turn-based system (the Total War series comes to mind), but to the best of my knowledge, the simultaneous turns are what developers are turning towards.



I understand your predicament, as I have spent a good part of my adult life far away from my online friends (I studied on one side of the Atlantic, they did on the other), but I'm afraid we won't be able to offer you any help in this regard. On the plus side, I made a few friends in Australia (which was about 16 hours ahead)...
