One of the main reasons to play ES1 was it's immense multiplayer focus. In singleplayer it was more testing and 'sharpen knife' of course. After a while I changed over toward other games and now came back. Cool to see updated and such, but currently I'm more playing it singleplayer then MP. Those given factions are quite interesting and sometimes challenging at ES1.



My thought or question is: do we get kind of 'minor factions' for ES2?

No matter, the goal still is to beat those major factions, but to reach that goal there could be some interesting steps in getting authority (by diplomacy, trade or battle) over neighbouring minor factions.

If you change minor factions, probably in the back of your enemy, to follow your command would be quite challenging.

An interesting addition might be to somehow 'lift' minor factions to majors, while possibly 'shrink' major factions to minors.

Not in thread title, but just to avoid opening another thread, I think that linking minor factions to planet type, or at least planet humidity/temperature, would be a good idea for a better immersion. Something like Ice wargs always on cold planets, dorgheshi in dry planets or some freaks tied to gas giants.

Freaks tied to gas giants? Are you making some derogatory comment referring to gas giant inhabitants as being gas bags?

OnTopic: The more the merrier. Bringing minor factions adds variety and detail to the universe. It's a great idea.
