This is amazing!



I was just saying to my self, "It'd be real nice if Amplitude made a new version of Endless Space, drawing on all the things they've learned over the years, but they are probably designing something new. Hmm, I wonder what they are working on right now. Maybe they have some kind of announcements or forums."



And lo and behold, I find this has been in the works for quite awhile!

And reading the GDDs, everything is just what I'm hoping for!

And it's slated to come out next year!

Ok, now that I've calmed down a bit...

I do hope some major attention is given to the AI, as that has always historically been a big problem in the 4x genre. (And it should be noted that the Endless Legend AI was a big improvement over ES in this regard, so my hopes are high.)

Thanks for your kind words! AI is still something we're working on: it was recently given a lot of attention in the last Endless Legend update, and you can see on our forums that many players are having to reevaluate which difficulty they're playing on, just because the new AI kicks a bit more ass.



We're definitely looking to carry on as many of the improvements to AI that were made on Endless Legend to Endless Space 2... and we're still expanding the AI team!
