Does anyone know if Endless Space 2 will continue the story of Endless Space or it will be a continuation of Endless Legend with a an improved and more refined version of the lore already present in Endless Space? For example will we get similar race introductory videos without any update on their story from Endless Space?
I'd like to know this as well. I'm deeply interested in lore in vidya and adding a coherent history to the game would greatly improve the immersion and storytelling. And role-playing (yes, I do roleplay in ES haha)

I had a vision of future, about half of year after ES2 premiere. I saw the large book that shows with details whole history and lore of Endless universe. Whole history, from the birth of Endless to the end of known time. And it was good.
I think it's a reboot of ES1.I hate that in GC3 they are telling you about lore events when you are exploring the galaxy for the first time in sandbox.

Not a reboot per se. Just a different part of the Endless galaxy.

I mean it's a new galaxy every time. It really is a reboot, just as every game you start is one then. Like it's really not like the games had any real contunuity and half the lore there was, like Sophon-Pilgrim ties or the Sophons making their new ships as a reaction to the cravers suffered heavily from ludo-narrative disonance didn't make any sense.
ES1 did not have a particular plot line (like Endless Legend has with the dying planet of Auriga), so there is no real "before" and "after" to compare it to. The galaxy - and the universe - are vast places, and there are many species and nations both familiar and unfamilar out there....
For the rest, you'll have to wait for the trailers!

Endless Space has immense potential to provide a unique narrative experience, with its great lore and many intriguing questions that Endless Legend set up. I am very eager.

This, to me, suggests ES2 is part of the "new" timeline that was adopted after ES1, and that we might see narrative progression in ES2.
