I want to make a suggestion for Endless Space 2.

I want to play Endless Space 1, but I have big problems to learn it. There is very much text, but it`s all very theoretically. I also have to read all the things. I like games where a nice voice reads the texts and give me piece of advice. Especially in a new game that´s very comfortable. (OK, I have bad eyes, so I hate much reading)

My second suggestion is a tutorial game, that explains the first steps and explains what I can do and why I should do some things and some things not. So new players (in the genre) can easily learn the game.

Hope you like my ideas

There really needs to be a better tutorial for Endless Space 2. The one in the first one really didn't do anything while the game was a pain to get into. It could also generally use better documentation, in the first one, especially with Disharmony, many things are even using the wiki a pain to look up, and some simply not avaible or hidden.

We know!

We did a better job already for Endless Legend, and are trying to figure out how to improve on that for ES2. We know it's not our strong point, and we're learning...

Games like Endless Space and Endless Legend are much to complex to explain them in a Tutorial, even if it lasts three hours. What it should focus on is instead controls and concepts. Much on the games content should instead be explained through extensive tooltips, which are available to the player whenever he needs them. Even if your tutorial is the most in-depth guide ever written, without direct relation to and basic knowledge of the game they are playing people will just forget about it again.

When I recommended Endless Legend to my friend, I urged him to do the tutorial. After that we played a few friendly games against some of the easier A.Is while I explained the concepts and what you should do in terms of empire management and warfare. In my opinion that's a good way to learn about EL at least, but I'm in favor of voiced tutorials.

I know Civ:Be is getting a lot of disapproval from people, but I think they did a decent tutorial with clear voicing. It would be lovely to see that in ES2.

Tutorials are usually something that is added towards the end of the development cycle of a game (so you don't end up double dipping and creating a tutorial for a feature that gets dropped or changed at the last minute). With our current production schedule, we doubt that a voiced tutorial would be something we could add. If that is the case, there is a strong chance this tutorial would be in English only.
