Actually it's not reliable at all. Both ES and EL had free weekends a year ago which would greatly affect the number of owners showed in Steamspy. Even without that the data is not that reliable, which is why Paradox requested to remove any data related to their games.

SteamSpy usually does note that and remove them from their estimates.

Hi,

A Big challenger to Endless Space 2 is coming in May, 9th : Stellaris

In this game there is a focus on population, politics (elections) as Endless Space will do.

Master Of Orion is going on with the EA.

Can we expect some fresh news about our game soon ?

Thanks per advance

I'm extremely excited for Stellaris, but its existance shouldn't spur Amplitude to do anything they weren't already planning to do. There's more than enough room in the genre for two to exist at the same time.

There's also heavy differences in scope and focus, with ES being a little bit more about handling your colonies and combat while stellaris has a very heavy slant on diplomacy.

Knowing EA's strategy on marketing and etc.

I dont think Amplitude needs to worry so much

since Amplitude has a good history and track record

Hi,

It's not the problem, i am very confident in ES2 game. The game is in my Steam whislist since a long time.

All i want to say is with a Road Book for the game development, it would give us some good

informations of the different stages of development for the game and a precise idea of what's going on.

That's all

Best Regards

Ah, that makes more sense. Amplitude is extremely active on these forums, you won't be unsure what they're doing. If you're looking for a concrete "This is the date we'll go in to Beta, this is the date we'll release", you won't find one for quite some time. Part of the relationship between Amplitude and its community means the development tends to be more fluid, things are tweaked and changed as the cycle goes on, which changes the goalposts.

I think there is still more time for early access or release. Simply because Stellaris is about to come and I doubt Amplitude would want to go toe to toe with that. It would just hurt their numbers while there is such a big hype train for Stellaris. It's just usual marketing, nothing new.

For me it doesn't really matter since I'm gonna buy both games but some or most people will choose between two if you force them to. In the meantime, I'm trying to complete some achievements in ES.

Yeah, I think most of us are already sitting with cash-in-hand for Endless Space 2. I would assume they're still too busy making the game to put out Early Access at the moment. As I recall from previous Amplitude stuff, they tend to be fairly playable/feature complete before getting an EA release.

Yeah. I only played DotE in EA quite a bit, but I don't remember running into crashes or bugs while playing it. And they did add loads of features and balance/gameplay updates during (and after) EA.

There was pretty much bugs in ES1. Especially, in a multiplayer mode =) EL was much better, though, so ES2 can be pretty playable in EA.

Still nothing huh? Any chance of getting a tease as to if it's likely to show up within the next 2 months or if it's going to be 2+ months until we get early access?

Some indication of how far off it is might help with the wait =)

They haven't released any indications of releasing it soon unfortunately. I would imagine they'd want to avoid competition with Civ VI though, so maybe that release date will give you a hint of when they'll release early access of Endless Space 2?

In late January they said that ES2 is 80-90% finished, but the last few percent are always the hardest... I really hope that they release it in June, I'd really need something good to play again!
