Will there be a Season Pass available?

I know that I am not coerced to buy DLC's, and that there is a very high chance I won't get a direct answer, but I'll ask anyways.

Will there be a season pass?

I like having a full package so I tend to buy all of the DLCs if I like the game.
(I loved ES and enjoyed EL, which is why I have 9200 G2G points)

Looking from how Endless Legend is still pumping out DLC's, I am under the impression that

similar thing is going to happen with ES2.  Also Amplitude is now partnered up with Sega.
.... which is also partnered with Creative Assembly that made Warhammer Total War with no season pass and many DLCs.

So will there be a season pass?

I can't recall a game where I was happy to see a season pass option.  It usually just means they're milking the DLC.

Further for ES I don't think it'll be that easy for them to pump out races, so it probably wouldn't make much sense unless they start doing cosmetics (maybe minor faction ships dlc?)

Amplitude generally don't release many DLCs, and they are often too big to justify a season pass.

I was rather satisfied by the Talisman : Digital Edition's Season Pass.

They're on their fourth DLC for Endless Legend...

Yes, which released 2 years ago.  What would you have paid for 1, maybe 2 DLC's to be packaged upfront that would be better than just buying them as they came out?

I'm not advocating a season pass, I think it's a bad idea. Just correcting the "amplitude generally don't release many dlc's"

From what I've seen, Amplitude doesn't plan all the DLC in advance. Instead, they release it as long as they're unsatisfied with some game features or think they need to add more. Thus, a season pass is a very shaky practice.

4 is not really a lot, nowadays, and they're still rather big expansions.

Talisman has 20+ DLCs, which includes a lot of little DLCs, and most games with season pass work in the same way : many little DLCs.

XCOM2 would be the closest game with a season pass, but it included rather "minor" DLCs as well and it was done more to encourage people to buy before release.

I would not be against a season pass, but generally it's for games whose devs already know what they will do in their DLCs, and how many. I don't think that Amplitude devs already planned what they'll do in their DLCs, or even how many of them.

If they planned to release 8 DLCs with one new faction in each of them, then yes, they could add a season pass.

Ha. And where is this rule written? Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if SEGA makes it happen.

Yeah civ basically does season passes, but they also tend to put out map packs and lots of races since its just traits and modifiers which require balance, and then maybe a handfull of models.
