Nope, if i remember correctly his body just went through massive reconstructive chirurgy so he basically was 1% Endless/99% prothesis.

Reviving this thread, I'm start getting conspiranoid, but in Unfallen prologue they're again, this four stars:

Yeah, the more I read the more it seems like they are some other race that predated the Endless, which is the direction I hoped it wouldn't go in.

Suddenly revealing a totally new race of DEMONIC aliens that are even MOAR ancient and powerful than the Endless and who were the real creators of the Dust is just BioWare-level contrivance.

By the way it CANNOT be an Endless. Remember, in the first Endless Space 2 trailer, the narrator says "I reached perfect harmony before they came and destroy everything". Its not a big leap to believe that "they" refers to the Endless and their civil war. So, new threat hype.

I looked at and listened to the Vodyani and Sophon vision trailers at the same time, and noticed that they each end slightly differently. After showing the four eyes of the 'demon', different numbers of prominent stars are left.

In the Vodyani vision:

In the Sophon vision:

As you can see, the Sophon vision shows 5 additional stars that together with the eyes of the demon, create a sort of ring.

In addition, the end of the Sophon vision shows the familiar "Your Vision, Their Future" tagline. But in the Vodyani vision, it reads instead "Their Vision, Your Future".

Wow. no idea what's really in Dev's mind, but here is plenty of ideas. Hope it's not merely a coincidence and will see the real thing through faction/academy quests.

One thing to remember is that (at least in the original ES1 canon), the Endless were actually originally 2 separate species (this is a separate concept from the Concrete/Virtual split). One of them was terrestrial, while the other was aquatic. All of the depictions of the Endless we have ever seen have been of the terrestrial ones. The aquatic ones, however, are described as having many arms, and there is no mention of their number of eyes. I only see two arms on these demons, though. So that's probably not what's going on here, but with the rebooted lore, who knows?

I'm wondering if there's any sort of connection to the Wild Walkers. They only had two eyes, but they and these demons both have a bit of a Twi'lek look going on.

Morgawr.....calling it.

All the pieces fit. If you look at the shape of the head and body in the Vodyani murial, it's very similar to some of the Morgawr forms shown in the trailer for Endless Legend: Tempest. And then consider how the Morgawr operate; sowing dissent and paranoia in other races in order to weaken them. The whole Vodyani civil war could be the result of a Morgawr power play.

How did Iskander find the Morgawr? -Who knows? Maybe he found them frozen on Auriga, or maybe they escaped the cataclysm and have been biding their time; watching, waiting......

It would be very odd if these do turn out to be Concretes, since every representation we've seen of them (and there aren't all that many admittedly) has shown them being completely humanoid.

The Concrete and Virtual Endless heroes had human body configurations, and most tellingly the "Cloth" worn by the Vodyani look nothing like these creatures.  So if they are actually Endless, where did the humanoid representation come from?

I can't think of anything in the lore offhand that could account for these creatures, although the Endless did have practically unlimited power to shape their own bodies, and were extremely factious so it's entirely possible that these are some as-yet-unknown faction that radically altered themselves from their original physiology and have an equally radical agenda for the rest of the universe...

Hi,

Both Vodyani and ES2 new trailer spoke of demons. The images are these:

The Vodyani trailer:

New Es2 trailer:

their eyes look the same, and new trailer speaks of true gods. Any clue about it? Merely a coincidence?

I've been convinced that it's a third party from the Endless time. There are some things on the steam store page hinting at something like that that's also involved with the creation of Dust and the Academy.

Vodyani were also "less human" (4 arms etc) before their ascension.

Coincidence?

It looks like they had 2 arms and legs, but in a really lanky and weird configuration

It's notable that the Vodyani are the ones that primarily consider them demons, and they're Virtual worshippers. That in my mind seems to link them to the Concrete in some way.

A Concrete Endless would be interesting. We had some encounters with the Virtuals (and a whole conspiracy theory that a crystal you carry in DotE contains an Endless) but never with Concrete. Expect for a special hero in ES1.

Speaking of which - neither that hero nor the Endless statues in EL had 4 eyes. We could be facing a new threat ladies and gentlemen!

If I were to guess, I'd say they are the Concrete Endless or whomever the Virtual fought at their time.
