Vodyanis Ark ship customization

Dear Devs, is it possible to add Ark hull to the game ? Right now, i have to edit the design every time i want to make a new colony ship. I drop the +50% food from star system modules the moment my system reaches pop cap and if i forget about it, new units need to be upgraded right after they are produced. That wouldnt be such a big problem if retrofitting didn't cost that much - 320 dust just to change 2 modules.

It should be there under the ship design screen.  I just customize my arc design and then leave it be.  It's arguably half the reason they're so strong (once you hit tech 2 all new arcs instantly get base tech 2 stuff for essentially same production time).

Totally agree. It was posted as an idea a while back: ARK as a selectable hull type. Unfortunately, Amplitude marked it "Out of Vision" because they felt it would make managing all of your Arks tedious to manage. Well, guess what? The current system with only one Ark design is tedious. 


I posted my own idea, Two Ark designs: one for anchored, one for withdrawn as a possible substitute. (Although I doubt I am the first one to think of it). Really, though the best solition IMO would be to 


1) Make Ark hull available for more than one Ark design at a time .

2) Make it possilbe to retrofit from any Ark design to any other Ark design. 


So, for example, you could have one or more "Battle Ark" designs for space battles, a "New Colony" design loaded with industry boosting modules, a "Mature Colony" design that mixes in some dust/science/influence modules, etc. After you've built the most important buildings in a new colony you could upgrade your Ark from "New Colony" to "Mature Colony." Or you could upgrade to "Battle Ark" as needed. Maybe there could be an extra "Ark Management" screen to manage Ark designs.


Right now, to specialize you have to redesign the Ark several times. If you want a new Ark to have engines to get to a new System, that's extra redesigning to add the engines and then remove them when you've arrived.


Hopefully, Amplitude will be able to put in a little more work to support the Vodyani and their unique mechanics.
