Now this is a huge nitpick, don't get me wrong, but I thought I'd get it off my chest anyway!

If I'm playing as the Vodyani, and I encounter another Vodyani player's homeworld, it just really throws me off to have it have the exact same text and spiel and name for their home planet.

I know it's a bit lame, but in my mind I always see other factions as 'rebel' factions and my faction as the 'true' faction; for example, with the Vodyani, any other Vodyani faction could be followers of Iskander St Shaiad.

Chalk it up to weird Endless planet-cloning experiments.

The problem is, any reasonable solution to this won't work in all situations. You have 2 unique & different homeplanets in case there's 2 of the same faction in a match? Well, what if there's 3 of the same faction? Or 4? All 8? Etc.

I think we just have to live with the fact that two players being the same Major Faction in a match is unrealistic in itself and just handwave any weirdness that ensues as a result.

The players each see their own homeworld as unique, and the others as a generic Orlis III or whatever. Really all you need is to not play the discovery pop up thing.

That would also work. Or just call it Mirror (Planet Name), have a discovery pop-up about how strange it is there's a world (and species) exactly like your own halfway across the galaxy, and give their portraits goatees.
