Here my though during my first game of endless space _2.

I don't really know if it's the right place to post it, or if it will be interesting to someone but there it is. ^^

Booting the game.

This new interface is neat ^^.

I don't know why, but i do like the underscore between endless space and the 2 in the main screen.

I choose the Sophons, 5 ia in random, difficulty normal.

Tip: you can use alt+click to put a tech at the top of the queue:  I love you ^^.



Turn 1: 

Took my time to read all the tool tips. ^^

Senate Screen: New stuff =p, next election in 19turn... hum, gonna ditch it and get back to it later

Economy Screen: Doesn't seem to have a tax slider.


Tech screen: i don't know yet which faction start with wich tech, but i should be able to know which one are in the game from the tech bonus.

( - Craver start with xenology and efficient shielding 

- Vodyani with Xenobiology and N-Way Fusion

- Lumeris with Multi-Thread Management & Fluid Nanodynamic

)

So i have against me: 2 Lumeris, 1 Craver and 1 Vodyani 

What to choose? It's hard

I can choose tech from Era 2 !? Even harder to choose.

2 turn for an era 1, 3 for an era 2 but era 1 tech give me +X resources building, era 2 give me +X per hab or +x% and cost twice as much industry. which mean no era 2 building tech

maybe a colonize or weapon tech. ( aggressive sophons ? Sound fun )


Time to explore. Should help with my tech decision.

the planet presentation is really nice. gonna get old and bug me very fast though, but nice nonetheless. 


2 Small tropical on a system nearby, and one in mine (nope, it's a jungle ). gonna need the Rare earth foams tech. all other planets are era 3+ tech.

Time to choose a construction.

can't find the max pop on my planet, graphics seems to show me 7 slots, but i can't find any number to confirm =(

It seems that i can build a colony ship without food stopping.  Was gonna go for the +5 ind +5food building, but now...

( ok so i tested to build a second colony ship, but they don't work the same way as in endless space 1. Not the best option unless you got a second system that you can colonize)

Time to hit that end Turn button.

Turn 3: 

Choose Non Baryonic particle ( cause sophon), it seems that the science surplus is affected by the Sophon tech bonus, it could be exploited to research tech with a low bonus faster.

(description: i am producing 56 science per turn, and researching rare earth foams ( 91 science) i'am at 56/91. i will finish the tech and get 22 surplus, that i can put in any tech i want. so i got the +50% bonus on the surplus, even if the next tech doesn't get me a +50% bonus.

it's a tiny bonus or malus , in top of the big one, but sometimes it can mean one less turn for a tech, in my case the +12% tech would took me 3 turn instead of 4 thanks to this bonus )

Time to colonize a new system.

I like the new outpost system ^^.


Turn 5:

 2nd tech done, i'm going for plasma metallurgy, as i have an hyperium node in my new planet.

first quest: the tooltip for the reward of the militarise option ( hardcore hulls) , show me that my ship might cost less, but by how much ?


Turn 7: i just discover the haroshems. hum, it's weird, i'm pretty sure one of my population is from that race.


Turn 11: arrived in a new constellation, but there is only one system in it =p


Turn 14: new colony.


Turn 15: pass a new law to get more probe.


Turn 20: damn it, the pacifist won the election... so i can't research the tech for tropical planet anymore...


Turn 24: Cerebral Reality ( +10 science, +10 dust ) is not considered a science improvements =( for the "those darn kids" quest)


Turn 40: exploring a lot, finally found a new constellation, make contact with the red lumeris, who try to colonize a system in MY constellation, so i'm gonna kick his ass out by colonizing it faster than him ^^


Turn 46: Assimilated the Haroshems faction.


Turn 51: The vodyani have been eliminated ^^. i got a feeling that somehow, the craver are involved. but they seems to be at the opposite of me in the galaxy.


Turn 52: That system is awesome:  5 planet that i can colonize, and each planet have at least 2 resource deposit. small caveat though, the green lumeris own it.

Turn 53: The preview of resource, when you want to move population across planet is not there =(

and the zoom in on a system to get inside seems to be a bit wonky at time. I figured it out, you can't zoom in, if your mouse is too far from the center or from a planet you own, or if your mouse is directly over a planet.

Turn 54: I can't scroll down the Event effects "Run"

SLC tech is too long for the interface, can't see how many turn it will take from the galaxy view


Turn 56: Red lumeris seems to have a grudge against me, there is a small attack fleet on the system i steal from it.

maybe it's time to construct some defence ship.

Turn 58 : 74 dust -33 per turn... woops finish a 300 dust reward quest, almost got my ass kicked... should buy me enough time to finish some dust building, postponing the building of my fleet by putting them at the end of the queue once it reached 1 turn before completion

Turn 73: Bring the money !! i've started my first commercial company, put 1300 dust in it. date of ROI is in 100turn XD

Tour 80: Wormhole do exist ^^. 

Turn 82: War broke against the two lumeris. they didn't take kindly the fact that i assimilated a minor faction in the middle of the green territory XD.

Turn 86: i'm ready to strike back. it's gonna get messy.

Turn 88: Craver have arrived in the center. ^^

Turn 90: Which modules you will get from weapon tech is a bit confusing. i can guess it from the icon, but even then i'm not so sure about it. which is why i haven't really touch it yet.

Turn 97: Truce forced... wtf !? and i have to pay tribute. no way...

Turn 99: having a threesome with the craver and red lumeris, on a red lumeris system. don't really get what's happening =( we are taking turn to take back the planet.

Turn 100: A dark sophon join me ^^. and I can't find how to make peace with the red lumeris. the tooltip for how many turn the truce with the green lumeris is bugged, it say 0 turn left since at least 2 turn.

Turn 101: victory score seems imminent. but i really do want to kick green lumeris butt.

turn 102; Truce forced on red lumeris.

Turn 107: Truce ended with green lumeris. War started XD

Turn 113: Staderus is mine mwhahaha. I'm in control of the center.

Turn 115: Truce force on me for green lumeris.... I wasn't fracking done....

Turn 118: Green lumeris is spewing probe as if there is no tomorrow =(

Turn 119: End turn begin to take a lot of time.

Turn 125: Truce ended but i don't need to go to war, his capital is in my influence and will be mine in 3 turn =p

Turn 126: i win, but the victory screen didn't popup. gonna continue for a few turn. green i'm looking at you

Turn 127: I peacefully captured the green capital ^^


There are two sign saying, "don't go there, from that point forward, the game is really not finish, fo real, we are serious"

I don't care ^^ time to go to buggy uncharted territory XD


Turn 140: Can't accept my new heroes. heroes in fleet doesn't seem to gain xp from battle or if they do, it's almost nothing, buyout vote did nothing XD.

Turn 141: got my new heroes.

Turn 144: Green got something like a godzillion fleet with 1 ship in, took forever to move XD.

Turn 150: I've start to peacefully eat away their system ^^.

Turn 151: Can't assign new skill to heroes. (not always)

Turn 152: declare a close border with red and green. end of turn are shorter. ( path compute time ? )

Turn 158: declare wars to the craver. all their world are depleted, it's almost humanitarian. Went straight for the capital.

Turn 162: Last system of the green started to turn to my side.

Turn 165: Games got stuck on a fight had to reload the autosave

Turn 170: Green is eliminated, he kindly joined me in my empire.

Turn 171: I stand corrected, green is still there, despite having no system. but the craver got eliminated... i'm pretty sure they had at least 5 systems

Turn 173: now Green is eliminated.

Turn 174: a Lot of my trade companies have disappeared =(

Turn 177: one of my colony can't buy out it's building...

Turn 180: Turns out that all my colonies can't buy out.

Turn 181: red fleets stack is gone ( 10 stack of 4), his capitals is mine. i'm gonna wardec him and try to rush as much system as i can before the truce is imposed on me.

Turn 186: the little s*** i manage to take all his system, and he manage to colonize one in the middle of the freaking map. ok he won't last 3 turn because he is inside my territory and i will peacefully let him in my empire. but still. he could have ask for the permission before XD.

Turn 187: Still pending, try different savegame, different way to play those last turn, but in the end i got stuck on an end turn... so this is the end =p.


Red has 1 or 2 system left, one with all my fleet on it, one in the middle of my territory, the craver is playing at "Schroedinger's cat" he is dead, but not really dead. the green have been assimilated by my empire, and the vodyani finish with a grand total of 53pts.

Always cool to read those, thank you :)


As a reminder, for now the game is intended to be played ~100 turns, this could explain the issues you had later on (that and we lack the content!)

yeap I saw the sign you get when you decide to continuer past turn 125 and each time your reload the game. but I really enjoyed seeing the buggy ride i got after that ^^.


(I've edited my first post to make it more clear, that i knew what i was doing ^^)
