From their description in the Wiki it appears that Vodyani heros (saints) are altered by, merged with or live in symbiosis with a Virtual Endless. Which leads to their name ??? St <Virtual>

Daro St Taiage: "Touched by the presence of the Virtual Endless who called itself Taiage" [...] "sharing her Cloth with its presence"

Klev St Seiotia: "her contact with a Virtual spirit" [...] "known as Seiotia" [...] "struck a deal with Klev that changed the latter in fundamental ways"

Varb St Zouieina: "unprepared contact with the living spirit of Zouieina" [...] "This Virtual, [...] find redemption and life as a Vodyani saint."

Enav St Lyeaor: "living Endless [...] Lyeaor, is said to have made a bargain with Enav" [...] "touched by the gods [...]  Others [...] wonder whether Enav is still in there"

It is not clear if the Virtual remains an independent being or is completely merged with the Vodyani although I thing the examples suggest the latter.

Either way, I find it strange that, according to that naming rule, the current hierarch (Isyara St Shaiad) and her brother (Iskander St Shaiad) appear to be connected to the same Virtual Endless.

If the connection is a complete merge this is not possible at all.

In the other case it is strange that two Vodyani affected by the same Virtual Endless have such different beliefs regarding their Virtual religion (that would mean Shaiad is against himself) and why does Iskander uses the name of a Virtual Endless if he is against the Church of the Virtual Saints?

Maybe when Iskander broke away from the church, he also broke away from Shaiad, who then fused with Isyara?

Without confirmation it could be many things. Maybe it's the Virtual they most revere/worship as an individual (and since Shaiad isn't an active Virtual, or possible fragmented, his specific 'will' isn't clear), maybe their family units are based on saint-like/Greek city state cults that worship specific Virtual entities above others and that part of their name can change if their allegiance changes.

It's pretty safe to assume that not all Vodyani are fused with Virtuals, since it's an event that happens in the heroes lives, and yet the only visible naming scheme includes the 'St x' format, so it's reasonable to conclude that it can represent something other than possession/merging.

Huh, that's an interesting observation, I didn't notice that. Cool find!
