Do you guys know if there are plans to sell ES2 on Humble Bundle Store. Cos I preffer that to buy it on Steam.

I meant the Early Access with all the bonuses.

Thanks

I know they've done other games there but I'm guessing its a "down the line after launch" thing.  No actual clue though, just a guess.

Here I'm hoping that they'll release it for the Humble February Monthly Bundle....

You might see some of their older titles but certainly not ES2

I mean what's the difference between getting it on Humble vs Steam

1) the devs get the same amount of money no matter which store you use. The humble store takes 30% of the sale just like Steam. Sure they donate some portion of that to charity, but the dev still gets 70% no matter what. A dev doesn't care if they pocket that 30% or put the money into a pile and set it on fire to the demon gods of gamedev. Its still 30%

2) you basically are just going to get a steam key so its not like you avoid steam if that's your objective

Unless you're trying to hoard "Humble Bucks"

Branching our onto other online retail platforms is kind of a problem of scale: you not only need to make your product available, but also to maintain it, ship patches etc, and it's as many different teams and possibly builds as you have platforms and retailers (Humble bundle is a bit different, which is why we've had games on there before).

So far, we're sticking to Steam, and Windows/Mac.

A curious question: given that Amplitude Studio had been acquired recently by Sega Europe, didn't that mean it would fall to Sega Europe to handle all publishing activities and responsibilities? Or did Amplitude Studio still need to handle those things itself?

If I'm not mistaken (and this falls outside my purview as I don't handle marketing or publishing concerns), individual studios within SEGA retain publishing independence, benefiting from SEGA's help and expertise for their activities. Some things may come to change as we get a closer working relationship.
