I would just like to say I am really enjoying playing the game and happily surprised that for early access to me it seems very playable, fun and beautiful to look at.
Below are a couple of observations I noted down from my games that I hope will help with the development but I recognise that it is still early days and there is a quite bit still to do.
Planets look a bit washed out, they do not seem as vibrant as they did in ES.
Planets in the solar systems need to make more sense with hotter ones near the sun and colder ones on the outer edge.
Selected ships don’t move if you have panned the camera to another system and they are off screen.
Curiosities give too many bonuses; I suggest increase number and lower probability of finding anything, this will also make them more exciting when you find something.
What is the difference between snow, artic and ice planets, not sure these should require different tech to colonise them?
Sophons seem to suffer a mid-game morale slump and then recover and seem harder to play than some of the other factions.
Lumeris are way too easy with the colony buyout ability as they make so much money; they are very easy to keep happy and can also assimilate minor factions far too easily.
General cost of assimilation too low, there should be a chance that the assimilation fails and after a number of attempts minor faction assimilation is perm locked and war started with them.
I hope battles are going to be further developed? Outcomes need to be a bit more random maybe through higher more common critical hits?
I am also not sure about removing the player’s ability to influence tactics mid battle, they also need more variety with possible crazy melees where ships for both side intermix. I think there could be a greater tactical variety than just three choices with maybe more at higher levels.
It would be nice if damaged ships tried to retreat like they would in a real battle rather than slugging it out to the end.
Maybe election polls should occasionally get the election result marginally correct until the player interferes?
I think election results screen needs to be more clear who has won as very often I have two parties with moderate influence and it is not clear which has won.
It seems Ecologist law that allows colonisation of most planets seems over powered as if you get this mid game you can colonise nearly everything.
It would also be great to be able to change the paint scheme of your hero’s ship.
