does anyone know whether  theres intention to make enough techs that add up to -100% expansion disapproval?  

in betas ,seem only VODYANI  can avoid expansion disapproval due to affinity.

was -100 % expansion disapproval available in es1, don;t recall cuz so far back?

No it wasn't. I don't remember the exact numbers, but there was four techs of approximately 20% reduction, and a trait that also reduced it (Though I can't remember by how much). After that, it came down to pumping your systems full of happiness. That said, it wasn't hard to get the techs to provide 25% each, or to put in a trait that had 20% reduction through modding.

These days, I just get my Cravers into religion and slap the Mass Happiness law in so everyone is content.

With approval out of the picture, I proceed to contently consuming the galaxy.

the dev really should add techs that add up to -100 % expansion disaproval. endless legend has it.

otherwise i don't see how factions that lack affinity that don't have expansion disaproval like volyani can eventually be on equal footing.

the whole expansion disaproval for empire wide never really made sense to be, if you do it to a planet , thats a different story.

What I hate is the fact that their Slave Driver affiliation doesn't kill Minor Pops faster than they reproduce. Those bastards breed like rabbits on all of my worlds and I can't do anything to stop it.

Endless Legend only has it if you unlock the Legendary Deed.  Without that, the expansion disapproval value can only be reduced by 50%.

yes but least it is acheivable , es 2 should get such a way.

Agree. "WTF!? My empire is growing bigger and conquering our enemy's systems? That really piss me off!! >:(".  

I could understand it's for a balancing issue but imo it should come in a better disguise. Like a corruption rate or risk of rebellion like Total War series.

Always how I felt about the mechanic in games. "Hey, I've gained access to the absolute best of everything thanks to my Empire's relentless conquering. That sure does suck. I wish I was poor, afraid and starving, then I'd be happier!"
