Has there been any news on whether we'll gain the ability to delete or otherwise remove certain pops from our planets? I started playing again today with the UE added and despite even the lore saying that Raia was an empty planet, Turn 1 I have Hissho pops on my homeworld and now 50 turns into the game and Hissho outnumber my human population.

It's very annoying and very immersion breaking. When I select a race to play as, I want to play as that race, not whatever minor faction happens to spawn on my planets and somehow comes to dominate every colony I have.

Enrole them on your fleet and send them to propagate the Truth in hostile space.

(you can transform population into manpower ;) )

Any way to choose which pop gets used for this action?

I mean, yesterday it was always the birdpeople getting conscripted (hehehe, "equality", right? xD), but I wonder if there was an option to choose which pop to take.

Also, conscripting pops for manpower seems now damn mandatory, they're getting pretty scarce since the last update.

I did not tested this yet. I could have sorted all Hisho on a planet but I don't think this changes anything.

Are the Hisho scripted with UE, because I had those too yesterday ?

Probably, I think. Just as the Sophons seem to get Haroshems every time I play. :D

Population improvements are tentatively penned in for Update 2. Not sure a purging mechanic will be part of it, it'll remain to be seen!

Can we choose from which pops the troops get recruited in the future? I'd like an all bird samurai army.

Also will we have an option NOT to start with a minor faction pop once the game launches?

You should've watched my UE play yesterday. xD I shook my head after I saw that I had around one Raian for five bird people on my ground invasion force. ^^

This. Or: Choosing which to get.

That's because the Hissho generate more Manpower per population unit, especially on Dry planets.

Ah, so it means each point of manpower has additionally a kind of "origin" property. Makes sense, pretty much, I like it. (I originally thought the races displayed in the ground battles were just calculated by the percentages of each pop)

I completely agree.

I've created a post about it in the IDEAS section. Let's hope it gets enough buzz so the Devs can notice it.

Upvoted it. :)

Though, I'd advise you to make your idea OP a bit longer, more information, what the alternatives are, etc.

Already got a reply from WeaponizedCaffeine! ;)

If anyone has anything more to add to the idea, feel free to do it.

I have a question. Mixerria stated that he had ' around one Raian for every five bird people in my ground invasion force' - does that mean that each minor and major faction population has its own ground invasion force graphics, and that the game remembers the origin race for every point of manpower? I never noticed that before, but honestly I've only looked at ground invasions when playing as the Sophons, and I didn't have a diverse empire at that point. If so, that would seem very cool... plus, because the game is already remembering the faction of individual combatants, it might allow for some differentiation between them (i.e. sophons infantry being cowardly, hissho infantry being more aggressive).

To answer the question about minor faction pops on starting planets: I think that's an unchangeable feature of early access right now. Vodyani don't have it because they don't allow other populations, but Sophons (Haroshem), Lumeris (Mavros) and United Empire (Hissho) all start with one minor faction population on their homeworld. With the Sophons it's sort of annoying - I'd rather have scientists than extra farmers - but I actually like having the Hissho with the UE, especially considering that there's a manpower requirement quest for them.

I don't think that you can choose who gets conscripted with the 'Exotic Rations' action (that converts 1 pop to 300 manpower). In my game, I've lost both Hissho and Raian population points to it on my homeworld.
