How does manual population migration work?

So in the dev blog post, it was mentioned that manual migration of colonists between star systems would be in Update 1. So far, I have not been able to figure out how this works. Am I being a dummy or did it not quite make it into this update?

I think it's supposed to work from the Systems tab in the Economy screen, but I couldn't get it to work yet.

I didn't read anythings about this on the patchnote so i thinks it isn't on the Update1 (or I read wrong)

I saw some verbiage in the patch notes that could come off as it being added, but it's specifically called out in the dev blog post. Also, it was briefly mentioned in the pre-launch Update 1 stream, but it was hard to tell if you could simply move population around in a system from the economy screen, or if thats how you actually move population between each system... hoping to get a bit of clarification from the devs, since I suspect if it is a feature that's been added, most people haven't actually used it

While we're asking population/system view things what is the end goal of manpower exactly?

Right now as far as I can tell it only exists for siege interactions (which i haven't messed with since the new patch hit, but seem unchanged?), so being able to cannablize population to draw out a siege is nice, but I don't see what the value is beyond that.  I can't remember exactly where I read it, but I seem to recall that there was supposed to be more to it, especially on an empire level rather than a system one?

If you go into the star system overview you can click on the columm that shows population to bring up a window.  In this window you can move pop between planets, but it doesn't seem like you can move population between star systems yet, or perhaps I'm just missing it.

You also need decent manpower generation to fill your assault ships with troops and such.  Plus manpower can be used for political purposes under some systems.  It's sort of like a resource, but with very few uses.

If you look at the wiki page, you will see civilian ships. So maybe in the future we can transport population from a system to another using that ship, just a guess.
