I just sold a system to the sophons as the lumeris when i meant to sell an outpost.

Now to be fair, I just rushed it and didn't think it through, but given i've had issues with this before I figured I'd ask others.

The thing that started this was realizing that the cravers were going to get an outpost before I could (each had a planet in the system, but they had a blockade on it).  Feeling nasty, I thought I'd abuse the AI a little and see if I could sell the outpost to someone else and at least recover my investment.

I tried the cravers first, wasn't even an option. Makes sense, it's cravers.

Next the Vodyani, still nothing.  

Finally the sophon, ah ok there's only one option here, so that must be it.  Nope its my actual system (not outpost, which for the record i got 390 dust for, which feels like not nearly enough to ever justify the option since that's no where near a profit on how much I lost).

I'd swear i've sold outposts before, but the one thing that's really confusing me here is why couldn't I see ANYTHING to the vodyani.  I was era 1 with 0 techs from the upper left corner (diplomacy and whatnot), and they were all at cold war state with me (although I think the sophon like me more being in the other half of the galaxy).

Does anyone understand the rules on selling outposts and systems?

I think only the Lumeris can do it.

Yep, only the Lumeris can sell outposts. 

It's their thing. Start a crappy outpost and sell it to one of the other Factions to mess with their over-expansion.

That's my point. I was the Lumeris. I  still AM the lumeris.  I still cannot sell outposts.

The Vodyani don't colonize systems either, so I think that's where your issue stems from.

That's unusual, I'm not aware of any rules that block the selling of outposts in contested systems (though it's definitely something we'll need to have the AI take into account when evaluating them). Would you mind attaching a save to the thread so we can take a look?

I think I figured it out.  It seems you cannot sell a blockaded outpost.  Does that sound right?

That would explain it, yeah - there are very few thing you can do with a blockaded system. Sorry I missed that in your original post, somehow it didn't register
