Well now that we know that the Vaulters "won" Endless Legend, it probable the others factions died on Auriga. But I didn't finished the Drakken quest, did they succeed at escaping Auriga ?

I think the Drakken are already represented as a minor race. There is a race of dragon like beings in ES 2 that developed space travel. I forget their names but I know they were in my last game.

Lore-wise I think the cultists had no problem surviving the ice age, or at least their leaders. Besides, I'd love a religious faction based on converting others (the vodyani do not convert, they consume :P)

Apart from the Vaulters, Amplitude seems to avoid mixing factions from one faction to the other. They also try to make a lot of new factions whenever they can. ES2 is even comprised of a few ES1 factions. Only Horatio, UE, Sophons, Cravers and now Vaulters made it back. It seems good to make a lot of surprises and new gameplay.

As for Drakken, the problem is that there was already a diplomatic faction for Endless Space, it was the Amoeba, who worked very much like the Drakken.

Except the Amoeba was even more OP. You had instant access to the ENTIRE map when you started with them (not just your enemies capitals). Now the Amoeba is back only as a Minor Faction and the Diplomatic focused faction now is the Unfallen.

Curiously they probably thought that revealing the map or capital locations was very OP and mostly focused the diplomacy on bonus for each empire at peace and the vine links.

Thousand years had passed, maybe they have developed some interstellar travels. Auriga is a den for Endless tech, maybe they got some nice discovery in that ice rock.

Thats a partially true statement.
The Vaulters DID make it out of Auriga but that does not exclude other races from not having it made of.

The only thing thats confirmed is that the Vaulters survived, not that the other factions died out. Theres a difference.

So back to the question itself:
I feel ya man, I'd to die to see dragons in space.

But while the chance exists that they made it off the planet the actual chances that they become playable in ES2 are well... close to zero.

Theres a few reasons for this, like that the devs probably don't want to spam ES2 with EL factions or that they don't seem to be one of the most popular factions.

Who knows for sure, I just wouldn't get my hopes up too high.

Seeing that you brought the Vaulters back to the Endless Space universe (not that i mind, the faction promises to be awesome!), is there any chance you will include the Drakken as well in the distant future? Perhaps as another addon?

They could be some sort of cyber space dragons, that would be awesome :D

But IMO I'd like to see the Vaulters in ES2, at least as a minor faction. Drakken wouldn't be a bad pick either.
