Has anyone noticed a massively increased end turn time since the hotfix?

So just wondering if this is just me or everyone else, the recent hotfix that fixed the pending turn bug, ue quest bug, etc.

since it's release the end of turn time (the time between when i click end turn and a new turn arises) seems to be upwards of 20-40 seconds, even at exceedingly early points in the game like turn 10.


I've reinstalled the game to see if that was something that would help, it did not. since this hotfix midgame turns take over 2-3 minutes to complete.


my guess is amplitude put in a check at the end of each turn that runs to ensure the pending bug resolves, but every single turn is VERY slow.


i've also noticed that fleet battles resolve MUCH slower (20-40 seconds).


i have a powerful processor - i7 3770k clocked to 4.2ghz, have the game installed on a SSD and have 16gb of ram so i doubt it's a system specification issue, but rather the code itself.


I'm aware the game will recieve optimization updates in the future, i am just asking if i am alone in this issue, thanks.

Not alone, after the patch I had the same issue with the end turn time. Also a few games I got stuck in quit to desktop, don't know if it's related.

known issue, it seems.


From the official statements, the fix was mainly to solve the issue of the 'infinite turn'. 

Though it seems to have not only failed to fix that (I've still gotten it), but increase the general end turn timing, as well as insure that if it's NOT an 'infinite turn', then it's so long that the average game player thinks it's the same thing.


So, best we can do is wait till the next major update (around/after first of year), and hope that fixes most of the current issues.   And will almost certainly add more new ones!   ^_^

(it IS a 'work in development', after all)

i have noticed the game seems to be significantly smoother when UE isn't in play, so it could just be that, the other thread was on to something.


but anything past turn 40-50 still becomes horrifically slow/laggy

Hello kaydiechii,

You effectively have some performances issues. Can you send us a save where you encounter the problem and the diagnostics files of a session where you play some turns please.

(you can find this file in the folder C:\Users\{username}\Documents\Endless Space 2\Temporary Files\Diagnostics - date.html


We have some known performance issues that we will fix during the early access, but it seems that you have another problem 20-40 seconds is way too much.


For the infinite turns problem, we will push a new hot fix soon that will reduce the number of infinite turns.

FYI: we're releasing a patch shortly that should address the immense majority of remaining turn end issues.

This is great to hear.  I played several games over the weekend and could not get beyond turn 90 regardless of my settings (Quick, Normal, Slow speeds, Tiny, Small, or Medium galaxy size, and between 2 and 6 opponents).


Even with the issues, this game is the most fun of all types of this style of game and I look forward to each patch bringing more stability and content!

I'm Having the same Problems and I'll second the fact that UE noticeably reduces performance. I'm still yet to finish a game and I've put 60 hours in, this  is due to corrupt saves or becoming disturbingly slow at turn 50  at 100+ I might as well press end turn and make a cup of tea. Keep up the good work.
