You mean ship skins? A set of skins is part of the Deluxe edition bonuses. Beyond that, I'm not sure... but that's another idea you could suggest!

Just chiming in to say I agree with the others in here. Even by the time the second round of ships unlock, the Hero ships already start to feel a little delicate. Once Dreadnaughts enter the picture, they're just waiting to die. Either have the ships get bigger and stronger by Era, or have a skill in their tree that provides them a better ship.

Nay! Only the original Academy(TM) Bright-Red-Love-Boat Mk.3000 does come with a pre-installed seduc... abduction beam.

Heroes should imho just use the empire Ships. Its not like their Hero Ships are anything special: We still kit them with out own tech.

Just make it optional. They can stay on their small "whatever" and don't consume any fleet supply yet become worse later on. That way they are a nice early game addition but it wont stay this for ever. If you want you can place them on one of your own ships. There they are better protected yet don't bring their own ship yet apply some buffs on the new ship they are on now.

For the early hulls a Hero on a small ship would be worse than a hero on his own ship, only better protected - maybe. Later on tho a Hero on something like a Battleship or Dreadnought would be the superior action and actually the right place for an Admiral of the Fleet to stay.

It seems a bit odd for a Craver hero to be in a bright red and glossy space ship.

They are Heroes, they have to fight on the Bridge of my Dreadnought! That is the place for a Hero!

As of now I am not a big fan of those Hero Ships. It is nice to get them into an early fleet and so but the very moment I watch a battle its... uhm... well... he has some flamboyant taste... that is how it is people, don't judge!

While faction specific hero ships would be cool, and something i'd be happy to see in a DLC down the line, I get the need to limit the number of unique in  game models.

It would be nice though if maybe one of the techs down the line (era 2/3?) let them pilot one of your other ships, and I do sorta wish you could at least get different colors/textures for the academy ships.
