Hi, I have a question about the playable build of Update 2.0 currently. In the Endless Day stream they were playing on a Disc-4 Galaxy, with wormholes clearly shown. However, wormholes do not yet appear to be in the game currently. Will they come out with the full release of Update 2?
They certainly do exist in the game. But you have to ensure that you do NOT select 'Unique Constellations' at the start of the game. Otherwise you get a galaxy that is already connected all over with regular star lanes. Turning unique constellations off removes some of these lanes and replaces them with wormhole lanes.
Also, unlike ES1, you cannot see wormholes untill you get applied casmir effect. This is a serious mistake, as people will not think to plan on that tech, unless they can see the connection points.

Yeah, agreed. It would be so much more intuitive if they just showed you the wormholes greyed out or something, and when you mouse over it tells you the tech you need to research to traverse them.

I can't agree with you ,indeed now with the probe system if we can see the wormhole too early, we will be abble to send the probe in the right direction in the first time explore too easily.

Good point. I suppose a better solution anyway would be to make sure to inform new players using the tutorial that they have a problem of isolation to overcome.
I think with the wormholes being invisible, for a new player, not knowing about them is an issue that would probably be overcome after their first game. And the first one is all about learning anyway. Plus, the tutorials are not complete yet, and will almost certainly include information about wormholes.
I like the randomness. It's not such a factor that it will seriously set you back into defeat but a minor little mechanic of chance in exploration. I think it's fun. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. I think of a bit of randomness helps with replayability.
I think I like randomness way more than most people though. As I have said before, I'm really hoping someone figures out how to make a random tech lines mod similar to Sword of the Stars. I always found it much more interesting to see what types of fleets I could come up with each game with different techs to counter the AI builds.
