Being a bit of an organizer, I hope this post would serve as a convenient deposit of player feedback for the devs. With that said, here are some of my reactions:

I'm loving the direction of the game so far. I was rather antagonistic towards the deck system in ES1 but I think the deck system in ES2 is much easier to understand. It would be nice to know what effects the cards on the Tech tree would have so it would inform our decision better.

I like the concept of the rebellion system, but right now it's kind of distracting to the main gameplay. Context: I was playing as the (militaristic) Sophons. Things were going fine to begin with (although those space pirates are a pain early on), but as I acquired more minor factions and the opinions of my peons population diversified planets started rebelling left, right, and centre. My empire kept changing its government (between Pacifists and Militarists) every few turns and it got old and annoying rather quickly. Eventually, I just ignored it and didn't really feel a strong impact on my game after a while, which I'm not sure is what the devs want. Perhaps the happiness penalty for not having one's preferred political party in the senate is a bit too steep? With only space for so many political parties, folks are likely to be pissed no matter who's in power. Although this may reflect reality in a sense, it just doesn't work for the game from my point of view.

Another thing I noticed was how easy it was to acquire the first few technologies as the Sophons. It was literally one technology per turn for the first 5 or 6 technologies. Although this does play well into their fantasy as über smart folks, I can imagine it feeling old/boring after a few playthroughs.

Finally, as beautiful as the Technology Tree is, I found it to be rather confusing. Perhaps I just need some time to adjust to it so this feedback might be moot in the long run. As of right now, however, I found it to be confusing and not as clear as the previous version of the Tech Tree. Granted, I also got into the Endless universe through Endless Legends so perhaps that format is what feels more "natural" to me as compared to some of the ES1 veterans around here.

So, what do others think? What's your feedback for the devs? Let's help make this an awesome game! :D
