And yet, there it is, on Kyris.  In fact, I'm not even allowed to build any new trading subsidaries.  Bug?  Or have I done something wrong?

I can't tell if it's a bug or not an expert on this system (and I'm not a game dev :)), but I can at least check from what I know as a first day player ;)

I've run into something like this multiple times but under just one condition.  I'm not sure if it's a bug or intended.

It happens when you build your HQ on an unconnected system, either it's one of those unique unconnected systems or if you build an HQ on the other side of a wormhole before getting the wormhole tech.  Oddly enough, the same connection works if you reverse it.  If the HQ is connected, the subsidiary still creates an active route despite being in a system with the same conditions.  I think it's probably unintended to be exactly this way since it's vague and confusing.  Either it's intended and it shouldn't let you build the hq in one of those systems in the first place or it's not.

Not sure if it applies to your game Mailanka.

Loaded it up and played it.  It's because you lack Applied Casimir Tech / wormhole tech.  It requires it for a trade route.

Like yours, I picked a different system still in the new/secondary constellation since the one you were using wasn't even a colony yet in the same you provided.  Both HQ and Sub are built, but no trade route.

Same systems, after researching wormhole tech.

Yeah, my system is in a different constellation, and I wondered if that was wrong, but if that's intended, you shouldn't be allowed to build it elsewhere, or you'll get stuck.  Or, at least, there should be some warning somewhere (perhaps there is, but it's arcane).  Otherwise, it's a bug.

Still, nice to know there's a workaround.  I can push towards wormhole tech.

Spot on CappinCanuck. At the very least we should change the message to inform you that the company is unable to trace a route (instead of saying you don't control any subsidiary); we'll see what's possible.

If the intention is that the trading routes cannot travel over "free space" like ships, including logistical ships, can, can we have some sort of warning about that?  Or, perhaps, make it impossible to build a trading subsidiary in a place where no route is possible?  I think the latter would be preferable, as you cannot gain experience without working trade routes, and you cannot rebuild a trade subsidiary while one still exists.  I will admit that I didn't think to check to see if you can sell it and rebuild it elsewhere.

You can. That's what I did, when I was testing if a trade route works with isolated system in my game.
