So I'm playing as the Sophons and I invade a Craver held system, and I successfully take it over.  Obviously the Cravers have the planets they colonized in the system depleted.  I want to colonize the remaining planets in the system, and I want to get rid of the Cravers for a more useful (and less planet destroying) population.  So the question is...

How do I kill off all these Craver population units?  I will do it humanely as possible of course, but they still have to go.  I don't want them breeding and destroying any more planets  o.0

Raze the system and send the colony ship to explore the galaxy on its own.

Accidents happen...

At the moment, you could send them on a transfer to another system, on a lane that you know is patrolled by enemy pirates... and that's pretty much it as far as DIY genocide goes for now.

We get it. Accidents happen, especially to Cravers... and this way the Sophons get to keep their spotless galactic image as a race that fosters "understanding".

"They were volunteers for that mission! Pity... alright, let's get back to work, this sun subatmospheric flux isn't gonna probe itself."

BWA HA HA HA.

Seriously though, I'd be more accepting of the Cravers if they didn't ruin my lovely planets...

...Aaaaaaaaand I sound like every racist person ever.

I am looking forward to the implementation of the pop eating for the Cravers. Otherwise these slaves allways ruin my elections, I mean presidential decrees.

Well you could send all of the craver populations to a system and every turn convert them into manpower. Nice slow and methodical. Calculated hehe.

Almost.

For a reason, you can't eat the last guy in a system (I guess he can't eat himself ?).

Careful - allegory can be dangerous if it's not handled with care. Zootopia was rather clumsy with its themes while Star Trek (at least the older ones) has tended to do a bit better. We'd prefer to be in the later category if we can

Where we're on the subject: RPS recently posted an interesting article on slavery in games.

I was thinking about it earlier... You could always send your Cravers in a system you don't use,  Raze the system and then destroy the Colonizer ship

And don't forget: all pirates are pirates, but some are more pirate-y than others

Five Tribes, a boardgame by Bruno Cathala had a problem with slaves in US.
In its international printing, there was slave cards in it, and there was complaints from the US even if the slave theme was historical.

Day of Wonders removed the slaves from the reprint and put Fakirs instead (link).

I really don't get why people are upset over these things. It's not like developers are racist slave drivers in real life, they're just trying to paint a more accurate and realistic setting for the players, to tell a more engaging story.

It's not like the developers of Wolfenstein were Nazi sympathisers just because they developed a game where Nazi's ruled the world. I know it might tick some people off, but freedom of expression and creativity are more important than a SJW's feelings who probably isn't jewish or german, but feels the constant need to get offended by something and complain about it.
