I started this alpha 2 weeks ago, and tried hard ! already some douzains of play hours, and tried all factions.

Late game, I speak here :

> 100 turns

> 8 heros

> 12 systems

> era4

Im playing at "Impossible difficulty".

I feel manage the late game is worst than in Endless Legend.

There is a lack of tools/screens/automatizations for doing well.

- Heros attribution : what heros to affect to what system ? Lack of visibility. Heros get advantages (timing, meager, strategic deposit, luxerys, and many more), what is great. Problem here is to manage, get information about where send them. Worst, it's the time where I want completly reorganise affectations in the whole galaxy. I gave up. To complicated. Need to individualy open each heros screen (2 clicks to access abilitys). Same, open each system (no direct access on the map like in endless legend). Doing that I loose track of information. There is no overall screen. Worst, the system list is now hidden in a economic submenu. Even, there is not enough informations on it, and no way to compare systems and heros globaly.

- Ships : too many ships on the board for doing well. Some problems, I get some orbitals ships, but there is many miss click when i want to choose a fresh constructed one from same system. Impossible to do fast all management. Sometimes a missclick send a group of ships somewhere, when I choosed only one before. It need a "cancel" button.

It need also some new tools, like "create somes rally points". So when ships are builds, they directly go on this. I don't know how could work this option for being enough precise. I saw someone put an idea about that. Problem is when I need new ships, i build one or two in each system I get. It's fastest. The difficulty is management about to grab them all and send them make groups or go in battle/conquest place.

- Pass turns : in late game, I loose patience about manage each turn. I put as many improvement I can in building queues. I click "end turn" one after one, waiting for a new tech first.

- heroes leveling : Some heroes regularly get new levels : it's to painfull to go to manage it and choose a ability each time.

So I proposed as Idea "automanage heros leveling" option. Here, I underplay hard. I can wait more than 10 turns before choosing any ability. Then I go to do it all at once, some heroes have stocked 2 or 3 skills points.

Most of the time, i never use heros in battle. They don't level up enough on a ship. Then i can simply choose only ressources abilitys.

- Battles : of course no cinematic. Even about cards, I don't care. I choose always the same. And go fast. I simply overpowered.

- Manage system : Of course, here I would need a "automanage system" option.

- Tech tree : starting to research era5 techs. I always fell some deception. First, i would like more after. Second, I feel some researchs are not at the good eras. Obtains bests strategics ressources ask to get last eras. It's a first choice priority. Then evoluate the big ships.

My problem with that ships : I don't like to use half the ship. So I always wait to get the ship + the number of modules upgrade before to build a single one.

I do that with all ships of the game.

- Manpower : problematic, very confusing. I never really know what provide manpower, how to get more. My ships can't conquest, they stay orbitals maybe > 20 turns waiting more manpower. I do all research about give %food -> manpower so. And research some low techs i missed for food.

- Laws, gouvernements, etc : to imprecise about how to get more laws. I don't find way to really manage population, politics etc.. so I gave up. I just support my favorite during elections but nothing more. But this feature look good (it's just more tuto/information is missing).

As I prefer Science fiction rather than Fantasy. For now my impression is I still prefer Endless Legend than Endless Space 2.  (the fantasy of EL is though rather a SciFi one). I hope the realese version will change my point of view.

Conclusion : In late game, you learn more what are the problems of the game. Because you want to play really fast, and there is too many things to manage.
