I don't know if this is intentional, but am I the only one who's affected- and bothered by the fact that there only seems to be a single Luxury Resource available per constellation? I've played a number of games since the patch, and on my current UE game the only resource that I can harvest is Dustciduous Trees. Is this an intentional feature? Do I have to buy everything else?

Edit: I'm in a constellation with fifteen habitable systems (and one Black Hole), and I've got nine Dustciduous Tree resources, and nothing else. This seems... kind of borked. Especiallly since there doesn't seem to be many Resources available from the Market atm.

Sounds like just bad luck to me. More resources will become available by exploring new curiosities (some of which are hidden, requiring research to reveal and eventually unlock), using the marketplace, and building trade routes.

Oh, I'm aware of there being more Luxury Resources (LRs) that aren't unlocked until Stage 4 of the Science & Exploration-branch of the tech tree. I'm more confused by how I've managed to go over every curiosity in the constellation, and I've only ever found Dusticiduous Trees. No Eden Incense, no Jadonyx, no Superspuds - just exclusively Dustciduous Trees. It seems a little silly that there'd be nothing else. A constellation not having access to all LRs I can understand, but to only have a single one mineable? That just feels like it's not intended...

Edit: And it's not just this game, either. It's been the exact same thing across the last three games I played.

There's actually a tech on most tiers of the Science and Exploration tree that improve curiosity exploration, not just one on tier 4.

Still, I've had the same problem, but not three times in a row. That sounds like less bad luck and more some kind of bug, although I have no idea why it's happening just for you or how it's happened in the first place.

I've never paid attention to whether this happens on a constellation by constellation basis, but I've definitely seen luxury resources mainly grouped in the galaxy.  It can be pretty annoying when you can't find what you want, but it does make it easy to pick which resource to upgrade your systems with.

I personally like that resources wind up grouped, as it means monopolies are a very real thing, which drives people to the marketplace and actually gives it purpose.  I've almost never had an issue getting what I want on the marketplace, but given I play on scarce it's rare for me to get a wide variety in my starting empire (3/4 max).

I've also noticed this, lots of the same luxury resource in a large area.

Few plays since update 3, but have same feeling. Specially since 0.3.4 patch

Hello,

Thank you for the feedback. There are a few issues with the generation that we're looking at; we will keep an eye on the luxury generation to avoid these situations.

Cheers,

I don't suppose you could also look at strategic resource generation too? It feels wildly inconsistent from constellation to constellation.

I thought it was intentional. Honestly is really annoying when playing Riftborn and you are swimming in food luxuries. I hope they become randomized or give the option in the galaxy generation to.

I suppose that's what the Marketplace and Faction Trade is for.

As a sidenote, it would be nice if 1-2 systems per constellation had random resources outside of their cluster. Would make those locations more important in the early game.

Right now, resource generation is odd.

I get the same issue above, mostly the same resource on the whole constellation.

Strategic resources... a bad dice roll that puts your Hyperium on a late tier planet and you are VERY far behind.  Playing as cravers, I need the hyperium to give me enough manpower to crack major faction planets in the early/mid-game.  If I can't get to Hyperium, I'm in trouble.

Hi, I am just playing necro again, rather than reposting. (oh my, what a herecy!)

I have recently played an MP game with normal abudance and ran into an issue where on a medium map with few constelations, mine and two neigbouring constelations had redsang, and only redsang as a T1 luxury, but to be true, there was also one eden incense deposit, which however was insufficient at +1 per turn to be considered. (I was reaching out zealously hoping to find anything but redsang.)
I would somewhat encourage especially now, when T2 luxuries are somewhat difficult to spot being locked by fairly high tech stage and T1 luxuries can actually be stronger than T2 on quite a few occasions. That there would be more guaranteed variance in T1 luxuries per constelation by which I hope for two to give player a meaningful choice in upgrading their systems rather than skipping it since redsang on fast is underwhelming. And supply of anything else by market is just plain unreliable.
Of course this is a rare occasion and it's not always a rule, but since it can happen, I wish it would not.

TL:DR - setting for at least 2 luxuries per constelation please.
