As the title says, anyone know what causes the academy to increase in level?

Also curious about this myself.

I was under the impression that it was time, started by its discovery or someone building an academy embassy. I can't say I'm sure about this however, that's just what it has seemed like in the 3 games I've played this patch + 6-7 from patches before this one. If someone knows for sure I'd also appreciate knowing.

The Academy is gaining level based on hero's level: each level up provides experience to the Academy, and once enough is collected, it levels up. Thus, it allows new hero to start with a more advanced level and keep up with older heroes.

Does the Academy retroactively gain experience based on Heroes who leveled before the Academy was found? Or will new heroes consistantly lag behind the old ones if it takes a while to find the Academy?

Any chance heroes available to hire on the marketplace could have a minimum level consistent with the academy too?
