Hi all,

I am glad to show the first result of fruitful efforts to have a Mac version running.

Porting ES2 on the Mac has been a real nightmare so far. It seems Apple stopped supporting a proper graphics API 10 years ago. There is a new API coming up, called Metal, but it is still very early. 

But still, the result is here, we have to fix a few remaining issues and start testing this on several systems.

Any chance ES2 will get Vulkan renderer at some point after release?

Sadly no. Porting to Linux is an even worse nightmare.

I do not think so if the game is running satisfyingly on DirectX and OpenGL

If you need alpha/beta testers at some point, I am ready to offer my services :) 

P.S. If I might ask, what features do you need that are not in OpenGL 4.1? Compute shaders? Also, what features does Metal still lack for you purpose? 

how is the OS X version coming along?

i know if I want goodies I have to buy before the release date but how many days is best?

Being an avid Mac fan I volunteer my services as a beta tester. Would love to help report bugs & oddities.

Woohoo, but I doubt my 4 year old Macbook will be able to play it. Since I got my gaming rig last year, I all but stopped gaming on my mac. But I certainly appreciate the mac port.

I would appreciate it too. Does the game come with steam cloud support? I'd love to switch machines and continue a game on the Mac, which i started on my PC.

I think that's the plan. Bit early to guarantee this will work this way, though.
