So, the release is quite soon so it is obvious for someone to ask. What is the depth of faction customisation in ES2? For examble, can I create a faction that has a tweaked population of Riftborn ( I have to create them with industry, they produce 10 science and 5 industry ( no dust bonus but something else from the list of traits ) and their political ideology is scientists and their population bonuses are also changed), ship designs of vodyani and the omniscience of sophons? Or it will be similar to ES1?

I'm hoping for complete asset freedom, but what we'll get will probably be similar to EL's custom faction creator.

Custom factions added about 1000 hours to my playtime of ES1. But the same did not happen with EL, because the choices were more limited.

I hope this time the devs will not fear imbalance, and will instead embrace fun and give full freedom of choice. People can disallow custom factions if they really want, so please let the rest of us go wild.

Or it may be ENFER who can tell us the answer as his knowledge about the game is endless?
