Even after 250 hours of methodical gameplay I'm still yet to figure out the factors/intrecrecies of Population Incrementation.

Stimulating seems to have a minimal impact at best in most cases.

Also I have observed a correlation between political output and population growth.

Anyways, was wondering what everyones thoughts are on this? What do you know, what do you think about the finite details?

I understand it's not meant to be a completely controlled event but it does seem extremely micro intesive to try to cultivate certain pops over others. Thanks for the feedback and thoughts!

As far as I can tell, population increase is dependant on how many of each population is in a system. I've had systems with a majority Pilgrim population remain very mostly Pilgrim, while Gnashast systems remained very mostly Gnashast. So, in a 3-world 18-pop system with 15 United Empire population, you will very likely still get another United Empire pop as opposed to, say, a Hissho. Not sure about the exact math behind it, but that's the general idea if I'm not wrong.

That said, your political party's support probably also ties into it, seeing as how every faction major and minor have a political affinity attached to it. Heavily militaristic systems will more likely produce militarist-aligned populations. If you have a Gnashast somewhere and one of your systems produces a lot of military ships, the chances of a Gnashast popping up there (or moving, maybe) is higher. Likewise for scientist support, industrialist, pacifist, etc..

Yeah. I have had systems dominated by certain pop types but the introduce one new population type espeically one that aligns with your current political ideology and they breed like rabbits.

So example 18 pop system 15 UE, military Ideology prevailing and you introduce a Gnashast yeah... they breed like a virus.
