Played on a medium ring map. In the screenshot below, I'm UE (blue) and the Cravers are red. I don't think systems spawn in the center of ring maps, yet overwhelming influence seems to come from an invisible Craver system at the center of the ring map! I tried sending out probes to reveal it but nothing turned up. I also couldn't find any tech that allows my fleets to travel to the center of the ring map. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

You should upload/send the devs your save so they can look into it. 

They're coming across from the other side of the ring, I would think. Since they've got vision at both ends and your territory cuts them off they go through the middle instead of around.

I don't think so. Their influence seems to come from the southeast but I own the entire south part of the map and a huge part of the eastern map. The only logical location would be the ring center.

@gigabytemon, unfortunately I already deleted the save. But I'll send a bug report if it happens next time.

The ring doesn't stretch that far. You'll notice the ring terminates somewhere under Graffias on the map. I tried to extrapolate the circle as best as I could given the screenshot, and drew the bisectors to find its center. You'll see that whatever system is producing that influence should be within sight range of those probes (marked by the little red X).

We'll never know without the save, so hopefully it turns up again and we can track down the cause of it. Until then I'll just peg it to ENFER screwing around with cloaking technology. :P
