Hi all,

Pending a validation by our QA, we have delivered two new preview builds on a special branch. To install any of these version, open the properties of the game, select the Betas tab, and select Preview 1.03 or Preview 1.03 AMDFIX in the list. The game should update to this version afterwards.

preview 1.03

This version fixes the issue with strategic resource deposits which sometimes do not produce resource stocks. Previous saved games should be fixed as well.

This version also contains most localization data for all languages. We are just missing a few words for the very latest features which were added in the game.

fixamd 1.03

This version is the same as preview 1.03, except that it contains a fix for the AMD freeze at application start or during battles.

Apparently, some spaceships (like the Vodyani medium ship), on some graphic cards (old AMD devices), using the Unity skinning GPU feature, will cause the graphic driver to crash. We do not know yet if this is a content issue or old driver issue, or Unity issue, we will have to dig deeper next Monday. We made this issue obvious because the release version contains a Vodyani medium ship in the main menu, which creates a crash, much more often than the random battle crashes some experienced during the Early Access.

For this build, we have deactivated the Unity GPU skinning feature, and tested four large space battles with the 8 major factions, on an AMD HD 5850. No crashes anymore. You should even be able to select again the “Beautiful” QualityLevel. We have not committed this fix to the main branch above, because it could impact performance / stability on other devices.

Thanks!

Hi does anybody know how they fixed that resources bug, where it says you haven't researched the required tech, even you already have it !

The original game has only that problem with the yellow resource ...

that damn hotfix solved that , BUT now the red, green and violet have the same problem ...

when you change back this three are working, at least the green one, where I have tested it ...

ANYWAY I NEED to know THE FILE, where I could tell the game, that I already have researched violet and red one , so I could mine that damn resources !

So that classic patch behavior has happen, remove one bug and get 3 :-)

I love that bugs are being updated or adressed, but I have not read anything yet about the bug I encountered, perhaps because it actually requires players to calculate and verify the numbers on population, planets, system and/ or empire.

A slight emphasis on population bonuses (fidsi, approval , military growth etc) these seem to mismatch (as in the point you get them you either do not get them or only current existing planets/ units get them and later expansion or pop growth do not benefit) this is an essential bug to the core of the strategy within this game and far more significantly present for the Horatio who evolve due to splicing.

I think I have thoroughly documented this and I feel, that the case of essential numbers not adding up, is being missed by the more earlier noticeable errors.

From my own programming experience this issue lies in not consistently checking these new variables and only implementing them on old (currently existing) variables (such as planet, system, research or population). This is a big hit for the core game. A hotfix would be to ensure new variables are re-applied at the end of the turn or another specific handling at the cost ofc for turn switch  performance as certain valuables/ data tables are requested and re-applied. Still in the grand scheme of things I think the performance set back is nothing compared to AI civilian spacelane traffic.

Thanks a lot! fixamd solved my problem also. Before the game crashed at the very first loading, before the main menu.

Great job

Same here. Aside from what I and the AI have gotten from events and curiosities, there seems to be no Adamantian in the game (the going price in the market is currently around 700 Dust per unit, but there's none available). I have researched Crust Engineering, but my Adamantian-generating planets still say that I lack the required technology. I tried updating to preview 1.03, but that didn't fix it.

It's making my planned Wonder victory a little... problematic. I can't build Obelisks without Adamantian.  :(
