Hello everyone,

Just wanted to know if you were aware of the existence of the 'System Current Political Overview' Screen and what was your opinion about it.

For your information, this screen can be found in the system view, in the political sensitivity section:

There you can find what events/actions influenced the political shift of your population:

To be honest, I find this screen rough and impractical. It feels like an afterthought.

However, the information given are very interesting and I feel like a better way to present them to the player could really improve both gameplay and immersion.

I am a bit puzzled because it seems that in the past Amplitude tried to implement quests and events related to those political shifts.

What happened to the following screens/events showing political shifts, directly connected to our actions?

so for example if cravers attacked one of my systems and besieged it , the population inside the system wouldn't tend to support militarist faction?

also i am not sure but it seems events/quests related to other players/ai actions are gone, i might be wrong.just cant remmeber any at the moment

if thats the case thats bad kinda

They might get implemented later if their not in now? I admit I haven't seen any political shift quests.

They aren't as much shift "quests" as they are shift "events". I ran a Pacifist game and suddenly got notified of a random event where my government is now more Militarist. As if building ships in a Pacifist government wasn't already hard enough.

Don't really feel like my opinion matches an option. As it, Yes, I am aware of it. But I don't find it useful nor confusing.

I feel like it's more about transparency (Political/Governmental transparent? Is there some meta-message here?), rather than being for any real particular purpose. I.e., this is a new system so lets just be as open about what's going on so that the information is there for everyone to read if they are interested.

I don't find it useful, less because of the screen per se, and more because I find most political ideologies to either have something worthwhile to pass as a law in most circumstances and if not, the generic ones are decent enough that I don't feel so bad if I have to go that route.

Even if I was going for a specific ideology, everything you do indicates what ideology it boosts, so it seems straight forward enough to just do the thing that boosts what you want when it's reasonable to do so.

Fair enough Downer. Sorry for not including this kind of opinion in the poll through ;)

I agree that this screen is mainly here for transparency purposes. But I find its design a little bit 'in your face' and harsh ^^

Also, shift quests and events based on those information could strengthen the lore and personification of each faction (eg. Probe finding Cravers = fear).

Oh, I agree, it definitely could be better. But it could be worse. A lot of the screens are somewhat mixed-bags for me. The economic scan screen looks cool, but I have no idea what is going on. To me this looks straight forward enough. The Quest screen has the lore stuff for the quests, but I've found it (iirc, thought the same in Endless Legend) to be framed a bit awkwardly where it's trying to display it, but at the same time not giving it quite enough space. The Victory screen also feels like it's desperately trying to occupy space, but ends up feeling empty.

The victory/system screen is the weridest one. 90% of the time I want to look at the System screen and rarely do i ever want to go to the Victory screen, which btw iirc doesn't even tell me the score for a Score Victory (it might not give all the details for other victories, i don't remember), so why are they on the same tab, and why (iirc) is the victory screen the default tab?
