So I wanted to create a thread where people can post whatever knowledge they have of how space battles work.

My first question is, how do we calculate when a missile is blocked/destroyed by a projectile/slug module? I see numbers for missile defense but I'm not really sure what this number means besides the trivial observation that a higher number is better.

My second question is, how are targets acquired in battle? Certain hulls say they have better chances of attracting enemy fire, and there are also modules that do this (and modules that make that ship less likely to be targeted). However, if we had a fleet 5 ships of the same type, would each ship have the same chance of being targeted? If so, how much do the hull types change this, and how much do the modules change this? I believe the modules give a flat number instead of a %, so I'm not quite sure how effective they are.

Feel free to ask your own questions or provide answers, and I'll answer as best as I can!
