Do you have a building (a unique one perhaps?) and/or law active, what converts food to industry ?

ive checked one of* my systems where i get this bonus and there are no buildings which are responsible for this. laws are ecologist law which allows colonisation without tech and brains over buck for +20% science

There was a reason for exactly this conversion food to industry (is not offered regularly). A faction quest or something like that. I don't get it no more.

there is one building which turns surplus food into industry, some where on the empire tech tree. fifth district. don't remember the name though.


for there rest it is probably somekind of bug, currently the game is littered with them and even though I enjoy the game i am waiting till the first big bug fix for anymore playthroughs

I reported this one, but it still occurs, was supposed to be fixed with 1.05 along side with a horatio, splicing bug where only unmoved original horatio get a bonus form splicing while all other horatio function at +3food and +2 approval on hot (their base stats). I do not remember any quest line or sidequest that gave this conversion, it totally balances out the fact you don;t get your splicing though. With all food early on converted to production (if pop is maxed) you can spamm entire fleets in one turn.

I just posted this in the steam forums, as Horatio i changed to a democracy, after the anarchy the tooltip told me i was generating 0 food across all systems.

Clorophyll Chemistry is the tech. In the 5 stage of the empire science. The name of the improvement is Super BioFuel Factory.

That is not what is going on. This happens for us as early as technology stage 1, while no one has the biofuel technology researched, we just get the effect in our games applied non the less. This means you can pump out huge fleets and win the game in the largest map by turn 50 or so, if you abuse it. 


It definitely is a bug and has nothing to do with not understanding what the effects are and where to find biofuel./ Just re-iterating this so the developers can take notice and don't assume this is all just a misunderstanding.
