I've heard a lot of talk surrounds the academy and it's questline. To an extent it feels like it's the main quest, perhaps even more important than the faction quests.

I'm busy with my second playthrough, and I haven't actually encountered it. How do you initiate this quest?

One of the players(AI or Human) need to complete the "find the academy" quest or wait until around 50's turn than all players will receive the academy quest.

Alright, I see. I'll go check my previous game, I probably had it all the time and never even advanced it.

well i am in round 561 and the big academy quest has not startet. -.-

Choose new game in main menu. Check out in settings, if academy quest is enabled. Perhaps it's not. As long as I know, chosen settings stay same as long as you don't switch.

 I usually reach it's apex between turn 150 and 200 on normal speed. It's a collection of competitive Quests that affect every empire, the very last one however has some really really game changing rewards to whoever put enough effort and divert enough resources to finish it in first place. 

 It really requires some focus and for you to move out of your way and regular strategy in order to win, but it's usually worth it. 

i had the academy quest on. it was not turned of.....so i don´t know.

i have played with the Vodyani...and i don´t get the quest

but i get a quest to terraform a planet :O^^ 

and no i have no mods.

"Game changing rewards?"  Game WINNING, you mean.  You'll have a hard time losing after all your heroes suddenly gain 4 levels, especially if you've made sure to actually buy more than a couple...At the very least you're assured a spot in the top 4 on the scoreboard if you're on the quest-winning team.

Yeah, absolutely. It's a great way to catch up if you are behind aswell.
