Why yes, the destruction of 2 of the enemy ships and zero of mine does in fact look like a draw.

Or not.

I'm thinking there needs to be a wider variety of things that this menu can say, and a rework fo when it says different things. Small potatoes in the face of so many other bugs, but I notice it.

Thanks

You're misunderstanding the game mechanic term for the word "Draw". It simply means that neither side completely destroyed the other, so both fleets will remain in the the same system. A victory of any kind means that one fleet was either completely destroyed, or retreated, leaving the system uncontested. But in the case of your screenshot the draw simply dictates that the battle played out entirely (through all three phases) with neither side destroyed and leaving the system still occupied by both parties.

In your case it looks like the enemy retreated, not fighting at all. If the battle ends in any way with only one side left in the system, that side is branded the victor. Likewise, if both fleets remain even though one suffered much, much more damage, the battle is labelled a Draw because neither forced the other out of the system. They will both remain there, contested.

Had something very similar happen recently. Makes no sense to me. 0 losses to 4/6 ships enemey ships destroyed. Nothing minor about that from a practical perspective.
