endless race or group of races. could it be that the writer was copying our story in real life which is yet to happen (according to certain ancient texts)

lets say virtual endless are the luciferian transhumanists (lets assume such thing exists outisde the bible and other texts or someone's  head, for the  sake of argument)  and the concrete endless are people you could today describe as "old fashioned christians" who want to remain human. (we are talking about the core meaninig here, it doesnt need to be 100% identical and bullet proof)

the great war happens and all that "biblical" slauhgter,suffering and whatnot and from there the writer/s build up the story of the endless universe which can be totally free of my interpretation here 

how would iskander (isyander?) fit into this, i am not sure

The Concrete Endless were also accepting of extreme modification, as they created both the Drakken and what would become the Cult of the Eternal End as well as devolving themselves into the ancestors of the Amoeba. They're not exactly Christian either, seeing as they created two species to control the people of Auriga and another for pure entertainment! Say what you will about the Virtuals but at least Carvers and Sowers had clear and important purposes. The whole plot of the game shows that both are closer to the Olympians squabbling to the point of destruction.

Seriously, the Endless have been retconned in the new continuity to be absolute d-bags with no redeemable qualities.
