The way I see it they have this nice ship but just let the invaders attack and sit on their ass.I think there should be an option for them to jon in the fight above their system.Make them more usefull.

Some give additional boni for defending units - in case you skill them this way.

Hero ships aren't really robust from what I see. They don't last long against medium ships for sure so their use would be limited in any case.

In a tight battle they make a big difference.

As a Solo System defender they would not fair well but as noted, the Guardian ship version can be quite a tough nut mid to late game with max upgrades. Always put your best stuff on those as you don't ever build them so the upkeep is a one off for each Hero... :)

P.S. Be wary of the auto-upgrade button when you have many add-ons researched. The use of it can update ships easily but also adds the cost of Resources that you may not have in abundance thus limiting the numbers of those Hulls that you can build quickly. :)

Yes, in a tight battle where they have skills to boost the performance of other ships in the fleet. If you are planetary governor, you're likely not taking those skills.

I'm more interested in the question that, why aren't they with the ground troops in a defence scenario?

EDIT: It would be cool/hilarious to see the system governor fighting with the troops in that ground invasion hologram.

Very good question JaquierKhader.  Surely they should be contributing in some way?

It would be even more interesting if they had their own heros tank.

On that subject... why can't we update tanks and fighters with adamantium or antimatter armour or rounds?  It might make planetary fighting more interesting!

I agree with these statements :)

Now THIS I can get behind! Makes perfect sense for a governor to lead the resistance against a siege.

That would be awesome.  Maybe he could count as 1 infantry, 1 armor, & 1 air unit and attack in each of the phases.
