I thought you guys would be going more for the "Labor of Love" category, but hey, I'm glad you have Sophons and Horatio in your dreams, mine are a lot more mundane!

The Labor of Love one had more to do with long standing games that while had been out for years, are still receiving updates.  So I had to give that one to Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion.  Because that one has been out for years upon years.  Starting out as Sins, then Sins Entrenchment, then Sins Diplomacy (which then got combined into Sins Trinity) and then finally Sins Rebellion.  And even though it's been years since Rebellion was released, it's still received even more updates this year with the release of the Pirate Sectors DLC and the engine updates it got this year adding better textures, 64bit support, 4K support and UI scaling.  So I had to give the Labor of Love reward to Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion.  They earned it.  Sorry, but Endless Space 2 is still a little new to the field by comparison, having not even been out a year yet.  But a great game none-the-less.

But yes, I have played so much Endless Space 2 lately, that yes, it absolutely was invading my dreams lol.  But I kept coming back.  So yeah, Endless Space 2 definitely deserved the "Haunts My Dreams" award in my book.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to take my head out of of the trenches to shout a little update,  and let you all know where we stand development-wise but also ask for your help.

We’ve been hard at work since the official launch of Endless Space 2. It hasn’t been our smoothest release, but ever since, we’ve doubled our efforts, and released patch after patch to fix the issues you’ve reported to us.

We’ve promised you the game would get better with each update, not only with bug fixes and balancing, but also with cool additions and improvements. So you might have indeed already tried out the Stellar Prisoner update, Target Locked that added the fighters and bombers, and on Thursday, you’ll get to try out the latest changes with Galactic Statecraft update, which will improve greatly the diplomatic system amongst other cool features. I hope you will like those changes (impressions from the closed beta is great!).

We would simply like to thank you for your feedback and for being so involved on the Games2Gether platform. We definitely appreciate your dedication and your support.

Our goal is to keep on improving the game, adding more content, and getting new players to dive into our universe.

We also would like to ask for your help one more time. As you might know Steam reviews are getting more and more important nowadays, a lot of players make a first judgment of a game based on that score. We have a pretty cool surprise for you coming up on Thursday, which will be a very important moment for us and for ES2. So if you love it as much as we do and you want to support the studio and the game, give it a review on Steam and spread the word!

Thank you all for your help and see you on Thursday!

First steam review left,  ever (I prefer to get my games on GOG,  but for Amplitude..  well I would buy it anywhere).   Positive,  as I have had a lot of fun with the game,  even back at release when it was a little rough around the edges.

Can't wait for Thursday.  :)

Will give you a very positive review on Steam as soon as possible.

I support Amplitude since the announcement of ES1. I have kind of a love/hate relation with ES2 mainly due to bugs and balancing problems, but the Galactic Statecraft update really turned the tide for me. ES2 is one of the most tremendous space 4X experience, if not the best you can find outhere.

As many have noted, read many but never written Review but ES2 is a game worthy of a ++ Review. ;)

Same here. Never wrote a review before, but I would love to show you guys some appreciation for all the beautiful work done so far. Free updates instead of paid DLCs, community interaction and feedback... these are all things that makes Amplitude standout. Keep it up!

Never usually do steam reviews, or do I consider them when buying a game - but I'll post one. You guys are great

Sigh.. steam reviews are so broken.   A review with well-rounded coverage of different game systems, art, UI, etc,  has the same weight as this:

"bdsm fetishistsa re super into those orange thots"

Yes,  that was the entire (negative) review.

Which is exactly why we're reaching out to you, because we know we have a better chance of getting an articulated review out of someone who is a regular on our forums!

SOme negative reviews are funny. Apparently ES2 is Satan, or Hitler, and its flaws are enough to ruin lifes and eat children. Well. Well.

Sometimes I doubt human evolution. When I am looking for a game and want to know if the game would be something I'd like to play for more than 5 minutes I actually READ the reviews. The notification about what the majority of reviews is about doesn't bother me a bit. I try to find a review that has a lot of text (since this represents someone putting work and devotion into his review), some structure and the minimal amount of typos. And then I start to read.

I'm feeling so sorry for anyone at Amplitude who have to read these.
