Hello All

Last night I finished a game with the Rift Bron on Serious difficulty, and chose the defender for the first time for the final Academy quest, and completed it. The Seeker heros were great help, let my fleets move across the entire galaxy in under 5 turns. that aside, when i finished the quest, i realized the hero meter is locked, and the game shows "hero unlock is locked due to ultimate quest". i thought to myself, I just saw the cut scene, how is it possible that it is still locked due to quest? then i head to the market and found out there were 4 heros available for purchase. 

But comparing to the rejunvenators, once the quest is completed, the player will unlock hero progress, and as long as the player can generate enough hero points, which is relatively easy to do in the late game, the player should not have any difficulties getting additioanl heros for free, and indefinitely. so my question is what is the point to choose the defender for the academy quest? since the hero progress bar will be locked permanenetly, and player will need to spend like 10k to purchase a hero from the market.

Not trying to spoiler anything but i think you may have missed the cutscene. 

There is important information then if you continue to win as the riftborn you will get a differeny cutscene than a rejuvenator win cutscene. Same with every faction.
