Planetary invasion manpower limit

When selecting a tactic for attacking a planet, one of the tooltips for Preemptive Bombardment lists that it reduces manapower deployment by 30% ... similarly, Blitz says it increases it by 30%.  However, the manpower values at the top of the screen don't change when selecting these (unlike when defending a planet - when you select different tactics there, the numbers do change to reflect the choice).  So, do these two tactics actually change the manpower limit at all?  I'm just wondering if it is working but not updating the screen or if maybe the tooltips themselves are wrong.  Thanks!

The manpower limit changes show after the battle, not before. If you check out the numbers in the top right after the battle, you'll see that you deployed more/less troops that it says at the start. Could maybe do with changing the screen to reflect the choices in tactics, if only for some clarity.

I tried looking at these but unfortunately, it still seems that the numbers aren't altered by the strategy.  I captured some screen shots during and after a ground invasion where I'm the attacker.

So, my manpower limit is 700 and the troops are 84 infantry and 18 tanks - I take some losses during the battle (around 20%) but win:

And the after combat screen still shows a manpower limit of 700 and inidcates my initial numbers of 84 infantry and 18 tanks (minus the 20% that got exploded in the battle :P ) :

So, it still seems like the attacker's strategies aren't affecting the manpower limit - maybe they're not supposed to and it's just that the tooltip is wrong, I'm not sure.

The 44-130 troops are meant to show if your opponent chooses a strategy that gives them bonus troops (Forced Conscription Strategy), however, since Pirate factions don't have a population/planet to choose from they always choose the Dug In Strategy which is why the final troop changes are shown after the battle.

The blitz choice does change troop amounts and I do think it is shown after the battle, however, I'm not 100% certain as I generally go with Guerilla or Preemptive Bombing

How about that!  You're right - if I pick Blitz, the final numbers are adjusted to show an increase.  So, I guess it's just Preemptive Bombing that either isn't working or has a wrong tool tip.  Thanks!

Here's the same battle from above, with the only differnce being that I picked Blitz:

I wouldn't say it works as you mentioned it should increase deployment limit by 30% and I see an increase from 700 to 850 which is around 21% increase.

This is still a bug.

I am sure it was already reported but wasn't able to find the corresponding thread in the forum.

I'm guessing a little, but it might be that 200 is baseline manpower, and only what is above that is counted in the calculation. That would make the 30% increase be on 500, rather than the 700, in which case the numbers add up. I will test this later today with different deployment limits. Either way, it's not very clear.

I'll have a peek at preemptive bombing too, but yeh, looks like you've found a bug/incorrect tooltip.
