On levels above normal you basically have 4 vs 4 power blocks that basically have wars all the time.This is not what I think ES2 is about.ES1 had alliances with votes so each ethos could make it peacefull game and veto wars.Why was this changed into this mess.


In this basically every game turns into a military factions dream.You need to basically build ships all the time making them dominate politics.You basically have to go lone wolf.

Yes I have the same issue.  I am playing the largest map with 10 factions on endless.  Two main powerblocks so far.  Fleets have to dominate and war is the only option.  My game is maintaining some level of peace as a stalemate looms.  Need to re think the whole end game goal on this.  alience to federation to collective victory option for peace.  In other words the military factions become isolated and hated by the rest.  Bit like the Klingon empire in startrek.  put them on a reservation to protect their culture.  A victory option for peace through force.  You can have fleets but how they are used determins sentiant level.  If you resort to planet killer techs then wow you are going to suffer massive penalties.
