Thanks to the XML files I added most of the backstories. I only took those from ES2_Localization_Asstes_Locales for the moment, but I will look at the others soon. I also found a description for a hero named Vladimir Kiminiski, but I don't remember seeing him anywhere else so I think it's in-achieved content or something. If someone got some information about him ...

The archivist was offered to me the first game after I unlocked him like any heroes so I can garantee it.

I put two heroes on the wikia to see how it would work. One of them still have his HUD because ... needed less work ^^ and also I wanted to see how it looked.

Edit : Does someone know if it's possible to save modification on a wikia page without posting it ?

Thanks for the confirmation!

As for the archivist, if it's anything like previous games, you should be able to recruit them like any other hero from the Academy after completing the Endless Day quest/event.

Awesome work guys!

Also for how to get Burra Techseeker, I've seen him just offered to me as an option when you unlock your next hero so he's just an Academy hero.

Question: I've unlocked Esseb when I played the game between Jan 21-25 and also have the achievement for it. Is she only exclusive for those days or should you be able to see her pop up in your game from then on? I've never seen her again in any of my playthrough afterwards that's why.

Yeah, I was thinking about using the table that's already there, but make one for each culture/hero class tree so it's looks less messy.
Can't really today, but I'll have some free time to do that tomorrow.

Edit: Cutting off the HUD would be better yeah, the page would look better with standardized pictures too.

But I doubt we'll find all the original artworks, so we might have to use smaller versions of the originals or only screenshots.

Thanks Aowashi!

I think we should, but at the same time it's easy to link most of those skill with his mastery category since they have straightforward description (if the skill is a science bonus for exemple it falls into Wit because science it's a empire-wise ressource and Wit is about empire-wise ressources) so I don't think it's a priority. Maybe also having the number of skill in each mastery for each heroes could be a good idea.

And I'm testing with the wikia, trying to put an hero on the hero page see what it looks like. I will add everyone after that but there is still missings elements I want to take care of before.

Edit : Another thing. For the screenshots, do we keep the HUD aroud the pictures or do we cut the upper and lower part of it before posting it on wikia?

Started adding the unique starting skills, should we also add which mastery category they belong to (wit, labor, command & wanderlust)?

Also I checked the wikia, there's no page for heroes and a stub for hero skills, so we could put the info over there.

Edit: It's done, also filled some blanks.

I think I can. If I find it on the XML files this shouldn't be too long but worst case scenario I can use the Sandbox Mod.

Also do you think I should put every skill trees on it? Like the Overseer kills, the Scavengers Skills and so on?

Could do, but I think it would be better to leave it seperate from starting bonuses which are unique / different from hero to hero.

Would it be possible to track their starting bonuses if governor or admiral?

Otherwise the list is fantastic and quite helpful!

I wanted to check a list of every hero of the game but the official wiki doesn't seem at the moment to be a good place to do so, since they don't have all the heroes of the game on it (plus some minor things that aren't important but irritate me a little like how the old heroes have moving pictures but not the new or the little pictures they use).

So I decided to start my own list. For the moment I use a spreadsheet on Google Drive but I hope I could put all those informations on a better place (like the wikia, even if it doesn't seem updated that often). I still have a lot of information missing but I will complete it and post it here to see if people are interested or want to help me with it.

For the moment I think all heroes are on it with their origin faction and which version of the game they came from but I would like to add :

  • the class (Overseer, Guardian ...)
  • the culture (for the minor faction's heroes, wich determine their skills)
  • the political orientation
  • the author (both the designer and the animator)
  • the backstory
  • how to get them (if they are tied to a quest or something)
  • better pictures for those who only have the official wiki's one
  • ... and for those who don't have one at all !
  • maybe other information I didn't think about ...

If anyone want to help me with this project feel free to tell me. Everyone can see it at this link.

(And if someone want to, we can also start collecting informations on other elements of the game like unique planets or anomalies.)

I see! Thank you guys, its a shame about Esseb but I was searching and I believe there is a way to spawn him using the sandbox mode too for those like who want to try it. Also about Justicar mmm I've played like 3 games as the Vaulters and haven't seen her yet, very strange. I will keep an eye on her she looks cool.

Thanks again :)

For backstories, you can find them in the XML files in SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Endless Space 2\Public\Localization\english.

ES2_Localization_Assets_Locales has most of them, the rest are in the ones that correspond to their respective updates.

For Esseb you have to start a game between the 21 and the 25 january if I remember correctly. A quest will appear and if you complete it you will unlock it for your next games. (But if you missed the deadline don't worry there is way to go back in time on your computer ;-) )

And for Justicar if you have the Vaulters expantion I think she appears naturally like every other minor faction heroes. But I didn't encountered her yet.

Oh this is awesome! I've been playing for +200 hours and there are couple of heroes that I haven't seen yet... For example Justicar Jyde Parcha and Esseb Veltaros, how do you unlock them?

Perfect! Now all heroes have their image. Tomorrow I will start to write down the backstories from those who aren't on the official wiki I think.

Thanks a lot, I will note it down.

It's because Veltaros didn't have the Virtual skills I assumed he was a Concrete but you're right Virtual make more sense. I just checked his description and it implies it could be neither so no way to be sure ...

I will check every classes, cultures and political orientations for now. Thanks to the Sandbox Mod I can see every heroes allready recruited on my empire. That doesn't say how to normaly get them but for everithing else it help a lot!

Also if someone has a good computer : taking screenshoot of some heroes would be awesome. Uneless you have other sources for them. I found most of the pictures on ArtStation on the designer's webpages but didn't find everything.

Five is from the Horatio questline if I recall correctly.

Also you can get Koros Apogee as a regular hero from the Academy, as long as you have the Stellar Prisoner update (at least I recruited him this way).

But yeah, a checklist like the one in ES1 wikia would be nice, I'm willing to help if I happen across any of the rarer ones.

So, a few notes:

Reyaryn Cious is from the base game, in the Cravers questline.

Fluffpetal Gurk'Zvar is from the Vaulters expansion, and is acquired by defeating all pirate dens in the galaxy, triggering a competitive quest to defeat their leader.

I don't think Esseb Veltaros is a Concrete Endless. They were posing as a Vodyani initially, and the DotE and EL Archivists were Haunts, which seem to be Virtuals. So Virtual seems much more likely to me. If Veltaros is indeed a Virtual, though, then it is strange that Amplitude didn't give them the Virtual skills...

I have no idea about Five or Ahririnn Turlemmoz.
