Is it my idea or its calculating the paths through the portals or something like that? Because my income is really low, I didn't know if it was worth to be reported as a bug, haven't been playing in a few months so I'd like to know if anyone else had the same issue, I'm buying a freighter on 20k that gives +30 dust and one of the buildings costs like 2k. Quite insane XD

I can still remember how i was disgusted this day, almost never play the lumeris anymore because of that...
EDIT : and it was very nice to actually play them like the venitians: Jenes constellation then some far colonized systems accross the galaxy + the Influence bonus with councellor trait increasing Inf. on trade companies HQ. How i miss it !!!
Routes should always trace unless you're on an isolated node without wormhole tech. If there are enemies on the path they trace and are blockaded. If they don't trace at all and are not in those cases, then a save would help us investigate the issue :)

Shoouldn't it be the case that trade freigthers also use them?

I think we're going to have to suspend disbelief or imagine some other reason ('people in transit are more valuable than trade goods', or 'much of the value comes from travelling along the route') to explain why the portals aren't used. Because it would clearly cause huge issues for trade mechanics if Vaulter portals were adjacent to one another (making trade worthless), or hugely distant with no connection through the galaxy map (making trade routes trivially safe and valuable)
You could argue that traders have incentive NOT to use portals as with longer routes, they have more stopping points, providing more opportunities for profit. Remember, we get lots of dust from trade routes, but at the same time, those merchants gotta make that cheddar too!
On a side note, cheddar is yellow. Dust is yellow. Dust = Cheese? FANCY cheese?!
